How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Tired of the Tears

in Everyday on 06/09/10

A girlfriends father passed away this week.  Suddenly 65 seems so very young….

My daughter did not make the team she spent all year working for.  Her heart is breaking, and mine is right along with it.

I have to go for an MRI…I’m sure not sure scared out of my freaking mind everything will be okay, and somehow this makes me cry.

A dentist appointment this week where I get to choose if I want to have freezing or not?  Huh? Okay, this doesn’t make me cry but kind of scares the crap out of me.  Shouldn’t the Dentist, you know, the expert make this decision?

Last night I was touched when super sweet Taylor Matthew’s Dad swelled with pride as his son performed on American Idol (*thank you PVR).  The pride in his eyes as his son sang his heart out….more tears.

Sweetness

This poor bird flailing in the oil as captured by The Canadian Press.  More tears.  How can BP ever make this right?

Prayers for the departed and the sick, hope for the lonely, cheers for the sweetness….pass the kleenex.

So, enough with the tears.

Had to get it off my chest.

Next post, I’ll bring back the joy.

I am so sorry about the loss of your friend. And I hope your MRI turns out well.

The pic of the bird broke my heart. It make me sick when I think of what it is doing to the wildlife.

Big hugs… take a breath… Everyone says “give it to God” and while I honestly struggle with this sometime… sometimes it’s all you CAN do to just stay sane. Also, writing gets it out… it’s therapy!

I, too, just am heartbroken at the wildlife being lost beucase of stupid humans. Seriously, they need to nuke the damn thing and let the rock melt around the leak and fix it — the Russians have ALWAYS dealt with their leaks this way. Don’t get me started on this stupid government… UGH! Someone needs to freakin take control of this situation. Those poor animals…

I think it’s a good time to turn things around for your daughter and let her know that sometimes the best things come to those who wait… maybe the time just wasn’t right… maybe there’s a better opportunity coming down the pike. All her work wasn’t for nothing… because she’s better than ever! That’s what counts!

      HUGS

First off, I am pulling for you on the MRI–good vibes coming your way!

Secondly, I had a bad week like that two weeks ago. I feel like I have reached an age (44) where lots of folks are getting sick–parents, friends, etc. I think it is the (crappy) reality of middle age. The bright side is that some good news has filtered in since and I feel better. I think that’s life’s reality as a grownup–the ups and downs. I’m wishing you more ups than downs!

The little birdie is so sad! I hate that your daughter didn’t make it. It’s always the worse when something like that happens.

Here’s to tomorrow being a better day!

Oh, and I’m sure your MRI will be fine!

Sometimes life gets overwhelming and that’s why we have the ability to cry and get it off our chests. Everyone needs a day like this occasionally.

let us know how the MRI goes, I’m sure it’ll be fine 🙂
