How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Am I My Hubby’s Hooker?

in Everyday on 08/02/10

*Warning: Super honest post ahead.

After almost 14 years of marriage I feel like I still wield some power.  C’mon, I can’t be the only girl out there who is trading IT away.

“Ug. I think I have a headache.” Is commonly heard uttered from my lips.  Sometimes it is legit!

Back rub begins.  Le Sigh.

“Honey really, “ I lament “I’m sorry I’m just SO tired.”

Then Hubby pulls out the big guns.  He offers to let me sleep in the next morning, wash my car, and go grocery shopping.  As a last ditch effort he offers to take the kids WITH HIM on his grocery run.

Suddenly I am all kinds of in the mood.

Did I just prostitute myself out for a clean car, a quiet uninterrupted nap and some snacks?

Sheesh.  Next time I am holding out for jewellery.

Been there, done that; and if the man is really smart he does the jobs once in a while to get you in the mood without the preamble. But it doesn’t happen often. Lol 21 years of marriage over here!

When I read the title of your post I started laughing, because I knew right then I wasn’t alone either! A girl’s gotta do what a girl has to do sometimes. Also, it works way better than nagging, no?
