How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Food 10 Mama 1

I don’t really drink.  Drugs (besides migraine drugs that is) are not my deal,  but junk food?  Oh my goodness junk food is ruling my life right now.  Maybe it’s stress, perhaps it’s my age, or a big possibility?  I’m just ridiculously happy with my life and given up all the cares because I just can’t seem to say no to temptation.  Presented with an opportunity to go to the movies and eat popcorn?  I take it.  Dinner with friends that includes apps, dinner, dessert and special drinks?  Yes please!  Daughters want to bake?  Then we shall bake and then eat all the things! It was all good until I went on vacay, took 200 photos and then browsed the photos.  Do you know what I saw?  Some 40 something blonde women I didn’t recognize.  Welp.  It was me!  It might be time to swap out those morning pastries for a smoothie, to spend less time basking in the sun with a book and more time swimming in the pool.  So go ahead, tell me.  What’s your breaking point?  At what point do you decide to turn down the doughnuts, the cookies, the popcorn, pop and chips!

PS Motivation wanted, tricks welcome.

PSS I may have written this while eating a bowl of sweet and salty popcorn.

I’m with you. I love junk food like chocolate, chips, nachos, pie,and I don’t discriminate when it comes to my junk food. But I keep telling myself I have to stop and then my inner angel and devil come out and wage war. Some days the angel wins but mostly it’s the devil that wins. I do try to limit myself at least.

I’m the same. I really need to work at not eating junk food…and stressful times make it so much harder. The last couple of years I’ve really cut it back and I credit the money rewarding system I created…I basically put monopoly money in a box (because who carries cash anymore) every day that I do not spend money or eat any junky food. We do the same for not eating out. I usually have a goal to work towards (right now it’s a new sofa and I’m at 1134 bucks). It’s a good system. I still eat junk food on some days, and I look forward to and enjoy eating out and popcorn at the movies SO much more than I used to. Because moderation is everything!

I’m there right now. Cutting out sugar is my main goal and just all around eating better. It’s time to take care of me.

Be good to your body. Being good to your body means engaging in fun and rewarding activities, and providing it with healthy foods most of the time and treats in between. There is no recipe called perfect. I’m glad you are so happy! 🙂

Life is way to short, do the things that make you happy, eat the foods that you enjoy eating, but most of all have fun!!!!

pictures of yourself where you want to be? and post them on your bedroom mirror. Finding good new recipes with all the things you want to be in your food as a good girl but taste like junk food.
Knowing the first bite and the last bite taste the same so if you want to say have a little something but don’t want to over do it? you eat the first taste of something and leave the rest for others.

food is just that food, it will keep you alive.

everyday needs a plan, you don’t have to have it today if it does’t “fit in” you can have it tomorrow. Yes there will be a tomorrow and more tomorrows I stick with it. (xing fingers, hailmary’s and all that jazz)

Junk food is so tempting and so good! It’s a bad habit of mine too! Definitely go for a smoothie in the morning!

I love junk food also it’s a big weakness, I joined WW a little over a year ago and sadly I have only lost 30lbs. I just like food way to much and it’s such a struggle!!

You can do it. Once I started eating low carb, this is the truth, the less carbs you crave. Try it for awhile! However, I really doubt that you don’t look as great as you always do…….

You only live once.. life is too short to ONLY eat salads! Everything in moderation – but ENJOY life.
