How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

On Dumb Ideas And Lofty Goals

in Everyday on 04/04/16

BucketList

Do you believe in the bucket list?  Creating a dream list of sorts, a map or list of goals you wish to accomplish before you “kick the bucket”?  Morbid or lofty, the bucket list is a popular idea!  Recently I stumbled across a bucket list challenge.  It lists some of the most common bucket list ideas, asks you to copy and paste into your own blog or Facebook page, and check off those things you have accomplished in your life.  I’m game, but I’m going to add a twist.  Why not add a few of your own bucket list items to the bottom?  Truthfully, I fear most of mine but will be travel related, but I shall try and think outside the box!

Fired a Gun
Gone on a blind date
Skipped school X
Watched someone give birth
Watched someone die
Visited Canada X
Visited Hawaii
Visited Europe X
Visited Las Vegas X
Visited Asia
Visited Africa
Visited Florida X
Visited Mexico X
Seen the Grand Canyon in person
Flown in a helicopter X
Served on a jury
Visited L.A X
Been to New York City X
Cried yourself to sleep X
Recently coloured with pencils
Sang karaoke X
Paid for a meal with coins only X
Made prank phone calls X  (and isn’t sad that kids can’t get away with this anymore?)
Laughed so much you cried X
Caught a snowflake on your tongue X
Had children X
Had a pet X
Been skinny dipping X
Abseiled down a building / cliff – into a Cenote X
Been downhill skiing
Been water skiing X
Been camping in a tent X (I think in the backyard with half the living room stuffed in there counts)
Driven a motorcycle
Jumped out of a plane
Gone to a drive-in movie X
Done something that could have killed you X (Wouldn’t you like to know)
Done something you will regret for the rest of your life X (See above)
Rode an elephant
Rode a camel
Eaten just cookies or cake or ice cream for dinner X (duh)
Been on TV X
Been in newspapers X
Stolen any traffic signs
Been in a car accident X
Stayed in Hospital X
Donated blood
Had to pay a fine X
Gotten a piercing X
Gotten a Tattoo
Driven a standard car X
Ever owned your dream car X
Been Married X
Been divorced
Fell in love X (hard)
Paid for a strangers meal X
Driven over 100mph X
Worked in a pub X
Been snorkelling X
Walked on burning coals
Eaten snails
Swam with dolphins X
Swam with Sharks
Found a dead body (seriously?)
Lived on your own X
Performed on a stage X

I’m adding:

Taken your kids to Italy

Rented A Cottage  X

Built a house

Chased a dream X

Captured pictures of a sunset that took your breath away X

To be honest, it feels kind of good to see I haven’t spent my entire life divided between sitting behind this laptop and the cursing in the carpool lane. I hope you will play along and let me know if you do!  Go ahead, copy and paste, add your “X” and pass it on!

Keep dreaming!

I agree…it IS sad that kids can’t make prank calls anymore. Although as an adult, I”m pretty glad that we don’t receive prank calls either!

Also, why is “cried yourself to sleep” on a bucket list!?? 🙂

wow that’s some list and Yes why shouldn’t everyone figure out a dream list. This way you can at least try to do some of it.

Found a dead body? This is not my ideal bucket list, but I did find a not-so-alive rabbit on my porch this morning thanks to the cat.

I guess we’re all curious as to what it was that could have killed you, 🙂 I don’t have a bucket list and never had. I’ve done quite a few on the list but at my age that’s no surprise 🙂

Oh fun! Now I’m dying to know what it is you did that could have killed you.

If I can grab a moment, I may play along.
