How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Fun Spot America ~ Florida

in Travel on 03/30/16

Located in Orlando Florida is a little bit of fun you may have missed; it’s Fun Spot America, Central Florida’s only family owned theme park!

Boasting two locations, one in Kissimmee and one in Orlando, Fun Spot America offers families the opportunity to slow down, find some great eats, take in a few rides, and enjoy a theme park the way they used to be!  Fun Spot covers al the classics; there are roller coasters, thrill-rides, family rides and kiddie rides too.FUNSPOT1

Fun Spot America provides you the opportunity to slow down,  take your time, riding as few or as many rides as you wish as you amble through the arcade and midway of this undiscovered gem.  This quiet giant brings back memories of fairs gone by, fairs of the very best kind with the excitement of the midway announcers, the music booming off in the distance and the smell of goodies drifting through the warm air.  Bonus!  Exclusive to the Orlando location, the alligators! “Fun Spot America Theme Parks and Gatorland have partnered to create Gator Spot. When you visit the 15,000-square-foot park you will see alligators of varying sizes, including a habitat for a leucistic alligator, a white gator with blue eyes. Inside the park you can take photos and feed the alligators. The attraction also features exotic birds, snakes, lizards and aquariums.”  It’s a quiet little alcove worth a walk through, and included in many ticket packages.

Not to be missed, especially if you are a family with tweens or teens, (or are just a kid at heart), the Go-Karts! There are four different tracks to conquer and all are guaranteed to get your heart pumping and your competitive spirit fired up.  With unique patented designs containing hairpin turns, steep hills and of course speed, it’s your opportunity to leave it all on the track!  The Go-Karts are a ridiculous amount of family fun.

Fun Spot America Theme Parks are a unique and stress free way to spend an afternoon or evening.  The people are friendly, the rides are good old fashioned fun, the line-ups are short.

Insider Tips:

*Be sure to check the website for Ticket Specials.

*There is no charge for parking.

*If you have thrill seekers, consider buying a ticket that will allow for unlimited Go-Kart rides.  (they really are amazing!)

*Keep in mind if you have people in your party that are not interested rides, they do not require a ticket for entrance.

*Skycoaster and Arcades are not included in the regular tickets

*Park is often open until Midnight!

No matter what you choose, take your camera and prepare yourself for some good old fashioned fun.

I’ve been to Florida a few times and loved it every time. Of course the warmth and sunshine help when it’s freezing north of the border. 🙂
