Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration and After Sun Lotion: The Reviews Are In!

in Uncategorized on 06/23/13

Last month I had the pleasure of not only reviewing Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration and After Sun Lotion, but also had the opportunity to provide a fun and fabulous sampling opportunity for 25 of my readers!  Here in Ontario, the sun is finally shining, and the reviews are in!  My thoughts recapped first; I adore the smell of both of these products and rely on the 12 hour protection to keep my little one’s safe.  We just celebrated the first official day of summer and it is now more important then ever to be sun aware.  Sunscreen before school, football games and heading out to the pool or beach is a must.  This Hawaiian Tropic Sun Lotion rubs in quickly and continues to be a product I trust and reach for.  I love that it is a sensitive enough formula for my entire family.  A new family favourite is the After Sun Lotion infused with mango and shea butter, silky skin and that heavenly tropical scent all in one!

HTropic

Now, to some of our reader reviews:

Emma: I have to say with being pregnant and my skin being a little more sensitive to the sun, wearing sunscreen has never been more important to me. Hawaiian Tropic was gentle on my skin, gave me great protection from the sun and smelt so good. It was easy to apply and provided great coverage! I love the feeling of my skin after applying the After Sun Moisturizer. It left my skin feeling silky and smooth and the effects lasted a long time without having to reapply it. Will be looking to buy both these products for the Summer months.

Mr. Disco: Hawaiian Tropic recommends reapplication every few hours, however even after half a day I could still smell the scent on my skin. It didn’t dry out and kept my skin soft and smooth. Equally as important, it blocks out damaging UVA and UVB rays with an SPF 30 rating.  The After Sun moisturizer complimented the sunscreen. It too had a pleasing scent, but one that men may find a little too strong for their liking. It replenished my skin and maintained the moisture and suppleness.  All in all I was surprised by how much I liked this product and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Melissa: Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Sunscreen- I love the lightweight composition of this sunscreen. I have avoided putting sunscreen on my face in the past because I hate the way it feels and looks. But this one was completely different. I didn’t even know I had it. It feels just like a moisturizer. The smell is so unbelievable that it instantly transports you to a tropical island. It made my skin feel very soft. I also love that it is waterproof and protects against both UVA and UVB rays.

Hawaiian Tropic After Sun Lotion- It also smells great, is non-greasy, moisturizes but is lightweight. It actually softened my skin. Love that it contains aloe which is so soothing to your skin after a day in the sun. It actually cooled my skin.

I will definitely buy both of these products for myself. Thanks Hawaiian Tropic and Sassy Modern Mom for the fab sampling opportunity!

Amy: I really like this Sunscreen, I love that it doesn’t have a strong smell, it’s a really light scent. (I hate very strong scents, they mess with my allergies) But this one is perfect and I also like that it’s hydrating but NOT greasy. It worked great! The After Sun care smells AMAZING!!! It is very refreshing and light weight. Defiantly a product I will go buy again and again. Thanks for letting me try it! 😉

Brenda: I received both the Silk Hydration SPF 30 lotion and the the After Sun Moisturizer last week, and I have been loving both!!

I’ve only used the Sunscreen once outside as we had rain and snow (ewww!) in the past week, so I’ve pretty much stayed indoors. When I did use it outside, I found that my skin felt moisturized but it didn’t feel oily like other sunscreens leave me feeling when exposed to the sun and heat. This is the most important factor for me and one of the reasons I had neglected wearing sunscreen in the past. I’ve tried it as a moisturizer too and it felt nice on my skin, it was light, absorbed fast and didn’t leave me feeling like I need a shower. It has a great scent too! Very summery and tropical, but not overpowering like other sunscreen scents and no smell of chemicals.

The After Sun Moisturizer has been my best friend since I’ve had it. I use it when I am just out of the shower and put it on my hands throughout the day. In combination with the Sunscreen, my skin has looked amazing. It absorbs quickly but works like a heavy moisturizer. This will be replacing my regular moisturizer. I’ve already picked up a bottle this week. I love the smell, nice and light. I’d love to see a body wash in this scent, too!

Both products are amazing and I would HIGHLY recommend them to others.

Amanda: Recently, I was lucky enough to be chosen to review the new Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Sunscreen and After Sun Moisturizer. When I received my trial sized bottles in the mail last week, the timing couldn’t be better! My family and I were on our way to the lake for the long weekend! My husband was the first to try out the sunscreen and he was immediately impressed! The first thing he said that he really liked how the scent was very close to that of an expensive tanning lotion. My 2 year old daughter even started sniffing her Daddy and kept saying that he "smells good!". When I found that I really liked about the sunscreen was the hydration factor. We usually use the spray sunscreen because of the convenience of it but I’ve never felt moisture from a sunscreen like this one before. I think it is safe to say, judging by the now empty bottle of sunscreen, that my family has now converted to Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Sunscreen.

Now, I’ve never been one to use an After Sun Moisturizer. If I got too much sun, I’d usually just use Aloe or coconut oil. When I got home from the lake, even though I had been using sunscreen the entire weekend, I looked like a candy apple! So I pulled out the After Sun Moisturizer and gave it a shot. The first thing I noticed was that it was not greasy at all (something that I really despise!). It had a nice light scent and went on nice and smooth and absorbed into my skin almost instantly! Immediately I could fell the difference. My ruby red skin was tight and dry before I applied the moisturizer. Once the moisturizer was fully absorbed, my skin felt close to normal. And it stayed that way for hours! Unlike aloe or coconut oil, I didn’t have to keep reapplying.

These are both truly wonderful products and are, in my opinion, superior to other sunscreen products! I would definitely recommend them to all of my family and friends!

Thank you for the opportunity to try both of these products out!

Sharron: I loved the smell and coverage I got using the Hawaiian Tropic Products. It left my skin feeling soft and moisturized and best of all protected from the sun! I especially loved the little bit of glitter it left on your skin, truly made you look and feel like a sun goddess!

Kelly: The Hawaiian Tropic bottles arrived just in time for our family vacation and I was really excited to try it out. I spent quite a bit of time outside in Florida, both walking around town and in the pool. We were away for 9 days and I never got a sunburn. I also received several compliments on the scent. People asked me what I was wearing. Such a refreshing change compared to the aerosol sunscreen I often use, which smells like hairspray. I appreciate the opportunity to try the sunscreen and lotion out. I will be recommending it to friends and family.

There you have it, the reviews are in and the reviews are good!  Hope you all have a sunny and sun safe summer!  As outlined in my previous post, all selected readers who submitted their reviews were also entered into a draw to win a $50 Visa gift card!

The winner of the gift card as selected by Random.org is lucky number 21! Congratulations to Amanda, and thanks to all who participated.

I absolutely love this new line! I usually hate the feel of sunscreen on my skin, but I’ve been so consistent with wearing it ever since I discovered this product!

Hi there! I know this is kind of off topic but I
was wondering if you knew where I could get a

      Thanks a lot!
