How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

This Is How I Roll

in Uncategorized on 05/24/10

I got through my dental appointment today.  Without a mental breakdown or a single tear!  Rewarded myself with some indulgent shopping.

Jumped for joy when I found the cutest shirt on sale.  Marked down from $80.00 to $25.99!  Woot woot!

When the 69 year old cashier was checking me out and congratulating me on the “beautiful blouse” I was buying I had a moment of self pity and thought “Oh Crap..I just bought myself an old lady shirt.”

Was so distracted by the thought that I was ageing prematurely, that I momentarily forgot where I parked my car.

Drowned my sorrows in McDonald’s coffee and Muffins.

Wrapping Up.  Dentists are still bad, 39 is not old, and carbs are good.

This is how I roll.

Mwah

But you handled it SO much better than a 29-year-old would have!!

39 is NOT old! At least, that’s what I keep telling my husband.

Looks like I’ll be seeing you on Thursday at the Maple Leaf roundtable event.

      Nice to “meet” you!

Carbs and coffee are the perfect combination in my opinion, they make bad dentist trips a *little* better.

Psh. Was the cashier working in Talbots? Or like, Kohl’s? Because WHERE you bought it matters! 😀 She just paid you a compliment, relax!! 39 cannot be old!

You are too funny. As one of the other commenters said, unless you see the old lady wearing it – it’s probably not an old lady blouse. I did that once. Bought a great (or so I thought) skirt. The very next time I was in the store I saw an 80 year old woman wearing the same one – and not a stylish 80 year old either. It went to Goodwill that day.

Very funny…especially because when I was in the grocery store and an elderly woman complimented my outfit, I wondered too.
Let’s just say older people have good taste too. 🙂

I hate the dentist. I love to shop to feel better too. I just found capri pants today marked down from $28 to $4. That made my day.

The lady at the makeup counter asked me if I was expecting this weekend. I’m not. Feel better?

I probably would have had the same reaction when someone told me I was buying a “blouse”

I have that thought when I buy certain shirts and the style I like I swear it makes me look like I am pregnant! Grrr…half the time I just give it to Goodwill!

Don’t old ladies call everything a “blouse”? There may be hope yet!
