How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Ramblings of a Woman Crazed by Chocolate

in Everyday on 04/05/10

EasterEggs

Why can’t I stop at 1 or even 2 Easter Eggs?  I limit my kids chocolate intake. How about a little self control.  Sigh.

Um, of course this does NOT include the time, and by “the time” I mean this afternoon, when I bribed my kids with chocolate.  Yep.  They pulled weeds, I paid them in Easter Candy.  Win Win.  Got rid of the candy so I don’t eat it, and I got one flower bed weeded.  That my friends, is quality parenting.

Is Spring in the air? I got checked out by no less then 3 dudes at the park today. Either I am looking goood or I have some candy foil in my teeth.

EasterCreamEggsAre Easter Cream Eggs getting smaller?  Why don’t they last as long as they used too?  Do they even look smaller or has all the sugar altered my visual perception?  When I was little I was afraid to eat Easter Cream Eggs, I was pretty sure those babies were full of nothing but raw yolk.  Yeah, I never claimed to be a smart kid.  My butt and skin would be so much better off if I had never discovered their true gooey goodness.

We have been home from our Florida vacation for two weeks and 3 of our 4 suitcases are still not unpacked.  Domestic Goddess of the Year!  I’m thinking I should use my current sugar rush to do some laundry…or maybe just book us another trip!

I have a killer headache and can’t figure out if it’s because I’m crashing, coming down from all the chocolate last night or because my body is going into withdrawal cause I cut myself off.  Either way.  Must go get more bunny.

Easter dinner takes HOURS to prepare, 20 minutes to eat, and days to clean up from.  It was all worth it the moment my SweetGirl declared “It smells that Grandmas house on Thanksgiving in here!”  Yeah me and my Hubby’s mad turkey cookin skills.

Hope your Easters were full of love, turkey and of course, chocolate.

I got my kids a milk chocolate dove bunny. My youngest said…it will take me forever to eat this…it’s SO BIG! What? Are you kidding??

Easter dinner takes forever to make. I want to tell my family…could ya please at least eat in slow motion to drag it out a little longer…

The Husband made a pork roast for us, his parents and my mom and stepdad, AND he cleaned up!!! I would call it another Easter miracle, but he does that kind of stuff all the time!

Sounds like you did good with the dinner. I am still putting dishes away. Now that my daughter is living her she commented this morning about the Easter dishes being out. I told she never saw it after previous holiday dinners. It takes me all week! Yum to the chocolate………

I’m with you on the chocolate. My kids actually only had one piece of candy on Easter, but me…I will never tell!

How in the world did I get through Easter without eating chocolate? I’m only just now realizing it too…because of your post. I must be mad!

Your home smelling like Grandma’s is an awesome compliment. (assuming that Grandma does not have a cat hoarding issue!)
I say you just book another trip…you are practically packed!

My mom used to claim that Reese’s peanut butter cups had worms in them. I was 10 before I ate my first one. Once I tried it, I couldn’t have cared less about the worms…I just didn’t look at them very closely as I munched away.

I am the worst suitcase unpacker! It can take me weeks before sorting it all out.
I definitely had a similar kind of easter and it is about time I think of that diet that will get me back into my bikini… 🙂
Happy Easter a bit late x

      Ha! Great post.
I’m an obsessive suitcase unpacker. Sometimes wish I could just leave it for a few days. But the chocolate? I can’t even go there… I’m truly obsessed about that…

Thankfully I do not have a huge sweet tooth, but I always eat a little bit of everything, candy, cake, brownies, YUM!

It drives my husband NUTS that it takes me 2 days to get through a Reeses Egg!

You know, those Cadbury eggs even taste different to me now. Either that or my palate is improving. 🙂
