How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Resolutions Start Tomorrow…maybe

in Uncategorized on 01/01/10

Today I stayed in my pajamas until noon.
I finally had a shower and cleaned up by about two.
I let my hair dry. I did not brush it out carefully and with the love it deserves, it is now a tangly ugo mess.
I did not make my kids shower at all.
For breakfast I ate peanut butter, so thick and creamy, spread on hot fresh toast.
I drank coffee with full fat cream.
We smashed an entire Gingerbread House with an ice cream scoop. I ate my fair share. OK. Maybe a bit more.
Lunch was pasta stuffed full with left over shrimp from last nights party for two.
Somewhere in here I snuck in Hot Chocolate.
Dinner, the oh so nutritional chicken nuggets with a side of mashed potatoes.
We have one more movie to get through tonight. There will be popcorn….and extra butter.

For these offences of laziness and over eating against my body I do not apologise!

However Dear Body, I will try and do better tomorrow.

Awesome! I say…if you eat what you want when ya want it…you’re not thinking about it so much that you completely go overboard. Right?

We’ve watched a lot of movies in the last two days too. Our last one was the Proposal with Sandra Bullock and it was reallllly good!

In my usual fog, I threw a rum cake in my cart with the salad fixings intended to help me stick to my new resolutions. When I got home and surveyed my purchases, I ended up going with a PB and J sandwich and a slice of rum cake instead of a salad.

Leaving the house behind and headed to Ontario cottage country. 🌲☀️
The hubby and I are planning a 7 night lakeside escape just a few hours from home, and honestly, this is where the girl math really starts mathing. After an expensive year, I’m extra grateful for our HomeExchange membership — and I love browsing all the gorgeous lakefront homes nearby!

Do you have a favourite town or lake in cottage country? Tell me!!

One annual membership fee + listing our home = unlimited swaps all year long. Affordable luxury travel for the win.
