How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Oxymoron’s from a Real Desperate HouseWife

in Everyday on 10/09/09

I’m baking low fat oatmeal muffins and cramming in as many chocolate chips as the batter can hold.

I’m drinking my 8 glasses of water hoping to shed a pound or two….chasing each glass with some super yummy chocolate and minty girl guide cookies.

I spend 20 minutes in the morning covering my face in make-up so I can look more natural.

Told my kids they have spent enough time in front of the TV, but yes they can play on the computer.

Must stop overspending, but the sale at Banana Republic is so so good!

I do pride myself on not being one of those “competitive Mom’s” but man was I ticked off when my kid was passed over for a higher level group in gymnastics for the daughter of the Office Manager of the Gym. mmmm favoritism?

I hate gossip, but loved hearing she’s taking her cheating spouse to the cleaners.

Salad for dinner. Popcorn and coke for 10pm snack.

I truly think recycling is important, but just threw out yet another Tupperware container full of unidentifiable moldy mush with a gag factor of 10.

I am currently wearing my new Spanx while eating previously mentioned not so low fat muffins.

Yep, that’s me, just trying to get through life in the Suburbs.

I am so glad to know I’m not the only one that will throw away tupperware if the insides are unidentifiable. (Boy, do I feel guilty doing that – and I thought I was the only one!)

Hahahahahaha. This was too funny!! Honest to Gawd, I was reading your post while devouring about 4 (big) chocolate chip cookies, having every intention to drink my 8 glasses of water today, hoping I will lose the weight I just put on from the cookies. Great post!

This is awesome! I spent some time making myself look more natural too today. Too funny!

I am going to overlook the plastic in the garbage can. Just this once, :0

And that’s exactly how it should be done.

Aren’t Girl Guide cookies just the worst? (in a good way) I’m now selling (read: eating) those, the box full of chocolate bars I’m supposed to sell for Suvi’s gymnastics fundraiser and bought “gourmet” popcorn from the boy scout at the door last night.

Life in the suburbs isn’t easy on the waistline. Must get myself a pair of Spanx already…

I need to live just like you. I love shopping also and that is a wonderful place to shop. I was just in there yesterday and would have bought the whole store if I could.

LOL! I look at it as getting some sort of “balance.”
