How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Longest Winter Ever? WW

in Everyday on 01/28/15

For me, finding a way to bask in the sun, keep your spirits up, and stay warm in the winter is a true challenge.

StephWinter

You have to rely on hats and all manner of winter wear to try and keep from freezing.  In the end, your  imagination  is your most powerful tool as you pretend you are somewhere fabulous and tropical. (even if you are sitting on a frozen lake!)

Usually, I can fake it for a couple of months.  Beat back those winter blahs.  But as this winter slowly marches on I must confess; I’m truly longing for a trip back to the beach.  Maybe back to Mexico?  Anyone else finding this already to be the longest winter ever?  I need some beach time!

It definitely felt like the longest winter to me too! Even now it’s too chilly for spring I think!

The only thing getting me through this winter? I’m already picking out summer camps for my kiddos!

That always stuns me!! It’s hard to believe how early you have to have those summer camps picked out. The good one’s fill up so quickly.

I have to say – this winter has been pretty decent by Winnipeg standards! We have had one small stretch of REALLY cold weather, otherwise, it’s been above normal temps! Even in the snow department – virtually nothing! Going into February, I have to say – that is pretty darn great 🙂

…. That being said, I will still gladly board the plane to Mexico in March and bid whatever winter there is a fond farewell 😉

Ahhh Mexico, that would be the best way to say Adios to winter!!

I need winter to be Winter. 🙂 Less snow would be nice in the shoveling department but without it there is now snowforts, sliding, skating and so on. 🙂

Okay, you have me there. If it’s going to be cold, there might as well be snow. At least the white fluffy stuff is pretty!
