How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

A Different Perspective

in Travel on 09/20/17

Sometimes the world is more interesting if you look at it from a different perspective.

Or so I’ve been told.

I’m just wrapping up a glorious week of travel with my youngest daughter.  It was a whirlwind trip, in part, to celebrate her 16th birthday.  We toured through Los Angeles walked until our feet ached, got a wee bit sunburnt at the local beaches, wandered into a couple of sketchy areas where we clearly did not belong, but only got really lost one time.  We were adventurous, ticked things off that travel bucket list, and yes, just about wore out the VISA.  Warning; the shopping is good!  What would I change about this trip?  My only wish is that the other half of my family could have joined us.  I guess we will have to go back!  Until next time LA!  Keep it crazy!

Picture shot at LACMA Lights display, a must see while in LA.  The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is prominently located on Wilshire Boulevard in the Miracle Mile vicinity of Los Angeles. LACMA is on Museum Row, adjacent to the amazing La Brea Tar Pits. LACMA is the largest art museum in the western United States.

That place looks really cool. Playing tag in there would be hilarious. LOTS of face plants.

I was in LA near the same age as your daughter & it was an experience I will never forget. It was absolutely fascinating & was my first big trip away from Canada.

What a cool way to celebrate your daughter’s birthday. Life is certainly all about perspective. Sometimes, a change in perspective makes a world of difference! 🙂

Those pics are so great. I kinda love walking in the tougher areas of a town and getting a feel for the non tourist side.

Travel has such a great effect on your well-being if all goes well. My son and his partner just returned from a two-week trip to Lisbon and Morocco. They felt like they had been gone for much longer because of the change and cultural differences-that’s how you want to feel after a vacation.

I love the idea of spending time with just one person at a time. Not being pulled in different directions is great. Is it bad I want to go somewhere alone now though lol
