Falling In Love With Miik ~ Giveaway

in Lifestyle on 02/13/17

***Please note the following giveaway is open to Canada only. Have you heard of Miik?  I must confess, this was a new brand for me, and now?  I’m quite possibly their biggest fan.  Offering beautiful clothes, gorgeous fabric and fits that are both flattering and forgiving. Miik is a Toronto based brand that creates gorgeous wardrobe staples in their very own custom milled luxury fabric, which also happens to be eco friendly. I believe that once you try even one of these pieces, experience the luxury of this fabric, you won’t want to take wear anything else.  Here’s why; Co-founder, Michael Gaughan has created a truly unique product.  He researched sustainable products and embraced the concept of slow fashion: “Instead of buying cheap, trendy clothing that would end up in a landfill site after one season, (he chose to) create clothes that are durable and well-made in simple, but striking designs.” It proved to be a concept that worked.  Now just over three years and several collections later, Miik mills it’s own products and has created a stunning line of classic, quality, long lasting clothing.  The final products are almost unbelievably soft, and never loose their shape or colour.  The pieces in the collection are perfect to mix and match, and ideal for packing for that next trip!

The first product from Miik that requires highlighting, the Lisa2 legging.  Said to be their best seller.  I had to find out why.

The Lisa2 Legging “Features a 4” waistband that acts as a control top that smoothes out the tummy. Wear the waistband high for a smooth look or fold it over at the hip for extra control. These  leggings will not lose their shape or fade and feel fantastic against your skin. Now available in our ultra soft navy and charcoal pinstripe.”  My thoughts?  These leggings are kind of remarkable.  Much dressier, perhaps more luxurious than your current legging of choice.  The material as mentioned is the softest I’ve ever encountered, and the high waistband is my new best friend.  Can a girl have a crush on a pair of leggings?  Because I do!  I love to wear the Lisa Legging with my fave boyfriend blouse and oversized sweater, they are fabulous with a bright top and short jacket and of course go perfectly with the the Sandy Reversible Tank and a pair of killer boots.

Thanks to the people of Miik I was able to try these leggings, the Sandy Reversible Tunic and Lexie Cardi.

The verdict?  I’m pretty sure I have found my new favourite outfit for travel.  The top.  I’m 5’9″ and wear about a size 8.  I selected the size  medium and it fit perfectly.  On top of that, it’s ridiculously comfy and the fabric pack likes a dream.  Add in that this tunic is also reversible?  Two looks for one!  Great for a weekend away or those long travel days.  I can see myself wearing this versatile tunic with my new leggings as well as my favourite pair jean, heels optional of course. The third Miik piece to highlight, the Lexie Cardi. It’s a long card with a distinctly french twist.  I wasn’t sure if I would love this piece.  I did!  Perfect for layering over leggings, skinny jeans or a any number of form fitting dresses.  Just throw on some fab jewellery and great boots and you’re ready to go. Now my only problem is which cozy and fabulous outfit to get next!  Miik has so many beautiful pieces to choose from.  A couple of items currently in my shopping basket: The Rachel Pocket Dress which would be perfect for that next trip down south and is even on sale!

And the Emily Soft Blazer.  It comes in so many colours and is just so smart!
