How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

When Flowers Explode!

in Travel on 05/11/16

Disney2016EpcotFlowers5

Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to wander through Epcot at Walt Disney World in Florida during a most remarkable time of year, the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival.  The park was filled with vibrant gardens bursting with more colours than one can possible believe are real, flower towers that astounded, wildlife habitats and masterful topiaries.

Some highlights of the festival not be missed include:

  • The special Outdoor Kitchens offering delectable small plates and flavorful non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. You’ll want to try them all!
  • More than 70 world-renowned Disney-themed topiaries, one around every corner.
  • The Garden Rocks Concert Series featuring live performances where you can groove to throwback beats every weekend at the America Gardens Theatre.  A chance to introduce the littles to the classics!

This special event is an annual event and this year runs from March 02 – May 30, 2016.  If you have the opportunity to visit during this remarkable time of year, take it.  Stroll through the living sculptures shaped as beloved Disney Characters, breathe the air in the gush worthy gardens, and soak up some of that Disney magic as it blooms right before your eyes.  Sigh, it’s picture perfect.
