How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

How To Survive A Shopping Trip

Have a long hot shower and shave those legs.

Do your hair.

Don’t forget to do your make-up.

Put on your best set of bra and panties.  Your “power panties”, you know, the one’s that make you feel fabulous.

Have a little snack, shopping on an empty stomach is a very bad idea.

Now that you’re physically and mentally prepared, hit those stores!

Try on ALL the clothes you think might look decent on you.

Twist and turn, evaluting all your wobbly bits in the mirror.  Feel disgusted with yourself.  Sigh.

Bite your lip.  Put your chin up and leave those nasty clothes right there in the change room.

Head to the shoe store.

Buy shoes.  Shoes don’t judge.

Shoes always fit.

Thank God for fabulous shoes.

I agree shoes always fit and they always make me feel awesome unlike clothes because they always tell me I need to lose weight but I ignore them and head to the shoe department

Ha. I can appreciate this (knowing a lot of girls that loves shopping, shoes and purses) but I’m missing that shoe loving gene. I’m an outdoorsy girl that probably gets the same amount of excited about backpacks and hiking shorts. So you can imagine the stress and anxiety when I do have to dress up. I will not shop on an empty stomach though!

This was a fun post to read. I love shoes but I am all done with the high heels they really ruined my feet.

OMgosh, any shoe with more than a 1″ heel is a no go for me

Leaving the house behind and headed to Ontario cottage country. 🌲☀️
The hubby and I are planning a 7 night lakeside escape just a few hours from home, and honestly, this is where the girl math really starts mathing. After an expensive year, I’m extra grateful for our HomeExchange membership — and I love browsing all the gorgeous lakefront homes nearby!

Do you have a favourite town or lake in cottage country? Tell me!!

One annual membership fee + listing our home = unlimited swaps all year long. Affordable luxury travel for the win.

If you want to travel more often and live like a local, you need to check out @homeexchangecom.
