Some days are good. Some days are great. Other days? You may need the assistance of coffee, the motivation of warm pastries or even children to drag your ass out of bed. It makes you think. Do you ever really know what’s going on behind closed doors? That smile you see on someone’s face? Is it real, is it fake? Is that Mama with the toddler screaming his head off, is she okay? Is she smiling because she’s slightly embarassed or smiling to hold back the flood of tears? The teenager down the road, maybe she’s not a sullen, moody bitch of a human being. Maybe that poor kid has stuff going on at home, maybe her parents are fighting, what if her Grandparents are sick, maybe that girl is just plain sad. The truth is, you never really know.
Yes, life can be sweet and joyous, and we hope each day is stuffed full of goodness. But the hard truth is, life can kind of suck too. Have you ever thought about trying to make a difference? Just a small one. What if once a day you tried one small act of kindness. Holding a door open for the person behind you, complementing a senior on her coat or warm winter hat, or just giving a knowing supportive nod to that Mama with the screaming Toddler. Today, why not share a smile with a stranger? Let someone else have the parking spot closest to the mall, pay for a strangers coffee at Tim Hortons, or drop a couple of items in the Good Will box. Why? Not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because you never know how one little act of kindness can shape the world of those around you.
Still think one small act of kindness can’t possibly make a difference?
This might change your mind.
Warning, you will need to grab the kleenex.

Thank you for sharing the video. Beautiful post!
A sweet message and so easy to do!
Your the best , somedays you really need something like this to pop up , I was crying , but it was good 🙂 xoxo well written , thank you for sharing ! 😀
I need a lot more than one tissue, what a beautiful video. I try to do little acts of kindness, like holding the door for others and smiling at people on the street. Though I am amazed at how many seem to ignore this simple gesture of holding the door open for them and just walk/storm right passed me. I often wonder if they are in a bad mood because something is going on in their lives that I know nothing about, that makes me sad.
im always trying to be kind and I try to teach my girls to be kind
Such an amazing message!
Love these videos, there is another one going on FB too that’s really good.
Such a wonderful post! That video *sniffle* *sniffle* – it really reminds me that I have it pretty good, and something as simple as a smile can make the world to another!
Oh Stephanie…I can’t even see the screen through my tears!
Hopefully, this video will go viral and remind people that kindness always comes back tenfold. And if it doesn’t? Well, still…offering kindness to others is the only way to go.
Oh man! That gave me goosebumps. Do you ever watch a video, then want to hug attack people? Me….right now.
It is amazing the difference you can make with just a little effort, & never ever presume to know what is really happening in someone elses life
I love that video, it’s so sweet. And you totally have a way with words, it doesn’t hurt to be kind, to show kindness everywhere. After all, maybe your smile will brighten someone’s awful day or even opening doors for someone else might help them see that people are still kind and helpful in today’s fast pace society
Great post! It is the right thing to do, a small act of kindness can often go a long way to making someone’s day!
Such a good post Stephanie! Reminds me to be grateful for the good in my life (and to be good to others).
