I once read, you only get 18 summers with your children…. I intend to make the very most of every single one of them.
At the beginning of each summer I sit down with my SassyHubby and we create a master plan. Seriously, we really do. This plan? It’s part dream list and part calendar. Trying to squeeze in as much travel, family time, a few road trips and a couple of beach adventures into the eight glorious weeks of summer. It can be a crazy juggle, but so worth the trouble.
Some ideas on our “travel bucket list” for this year included; a family trip to the local beach, a far flung trip to the Turks and Caicos, an adventure to a theme park, taking in a good old fashioned fair, a parents only trip to Toronto, and my favourite…. precious time at a cottage on a quiet lake.
We may not have checked off all the items on our bucket list just yet, but there are still a couple of weeks left!
As we approach the end of the summer I realize it’s time to get serious, we still have things to do and the dreaded Fall season will be hear before we know it. I’m doing everything I can to take advantage of the sunshine, the warm weather and cram in the fun before the days get shorter, the nights turn cool and school is back in session. I see one last trip to the beach in our future, and definitely more time with family and friends. We’re still looking forward to those end of summer fairs, and I wouldn’t say no to another spontaneous getaway with my SassyHubby!

More backyard family campfires!
We will be heading to the Zoo next week, the CNE and then 1 final long weekend cottage trip before my daughter starts her very first day of school.

Summer doesn’t technically end until the 20th of Sept or so. I have a birthday earlier than that day by a few days and my husband and I will be spending it together and hopefully enjoying a nice day and going for a walk and dining out with family,
I am going to NYC in September to watch the Blue Jays play the Yankees
Having as many family BBQ’s as we can!
I plan on going camping again atleast once before the summer ends
Going to some local festivities and hopefully having as many BBQ’s as we can fit in with late night bonfires.
We have a few more day trips planned and my godsons 7th. Birthday next week!
We are trying to catch up on everything on our ‘summer list’. Still have some parks and beaches to explore, need to go bowling, have some playdates, go to an outdoor concert, maybe go to a movie, and of course, get some new clothes with back to school shopping!
We are going to the CNE and one more big family camping trip to Byng Island! oh, and all the time in the sun and garden that I can get
There are a few outdoor festivals nearby in the next few weeks
Spending it at our trailer in Grand Bend and hoping to spend as much time outside as possible!
