How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

It’s Time To Visit Calgary and The Calgary Zoo!

in Family, Travel on 09/06/14

Calgary Alberta! Have you been?  The City of Calgary boasts a ton of spectacular activities and attractions perfect for the entire family.  One of these must see attractions is The Calgary Zoo! Located right in the heart of the city and only five minutes from downtown, the Calgary Zoo has offered visitors from around the world  the opportunity to experience and interact with wildlife for more than 75 years!

CalgaryZoo2

The Calgary Zoo is Western Canada’s largest accredited zoo with so much to explore.  There are over 1,000 animals, six acres of botanical gardens, a prehistoric park, and even a zoo-nique playground!  Each and every trip becomes an adventure.

CalgaryZoo

The Calgary Zoo offers a plethora of exhibits sure to delight all the members of your family.  It offers a chance for adventure, the chance to learn, and the opportunity to see creatures big and small from all over the world in just one day!

Where to start:

Ever wonder what Alberta might have looked like when Dinosaurs roamed the earth?  Jump in your time machine and travel back in time to The Prehistoric Park! With life-sized dinosaur models around every turn a visit to the zoo just became an experience you will never forget!

More adventure awaits as you venture to Penguin Plunge!  No effort has been spared to create a realistic penguin habitat.  Chilly air, icy water, and snow-covered rocks provide a sense of home for the zoo’s penguins, and a great place for you to learn about these cheeky little creatures.  They are all dressed up and ready to play!

Have little one’s who want to roar like a tiger or jump like a monkey?  Be sure to stop by Eurasia.  Take a moment to watch the stealth tigers as they walk the grassy plains, and the snow leopards as they lounge in shady tree branches. Allot even more time to enjoy the playful antics of Japanese macaques as they swing and chase each other overhead.  Then visit the picture worthy and endangered Komodo Dragon.  There are almost countless opportunities to find and coo over the amazing of creatures in Eurasia!

Canada is home to some incredible wild life, but have you ever seen these creatures up close and personal?  The stars of the Canadian Wilds; the bears, cougars, and wolves are all front and centre waiting for you at the Calgary Zoo.

A day with the one’s you love; exploring, learning, gasping in amazement and giggling with delight.  This is a day at the Calgary Zoo.  This attraction is the perfect way to create your own adventure, and make some memories to last a lifetime.

There’s so much to do in Calgary, hoping to one day to visit there. Toronto Zoo and African Lion Safari will have to do for now.

Wow this looks like such an awesome zoo. We went to Safari Niagara on the weekend and it was no where as exciting as even seeing your pictures. The animals were just laying there and so far away to be able to see properly. Looks like the Calgary zoo is so much fun!
