How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

CasaMagna Puerto Vallarta by Marriott Dining & Play

in Travel on 06/21/14

Located in the beautiful Marina Vallarta neighbourhood of Puerto Vallarta, the CasaMagna Puerto Vallarta Resort and Spa offers four world class dining options, a bar and deli, and a long list of luxury amenities.  Dining options abound and guests are invited to take advantage of either a  European plan or an all inclusive option, both allowing for the opportunity to indulge at their many restaurants.

Los Mangos Deli

Open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner this is the perfect spot to pop in for a quick pastry, cafe mocha, or to grab a bottle of water or pop.  Need something sweet?  Trust me when I say you have to try the butter pecan ice cream!

IMG_2175IMG_2176IMG_2177IMG_2178

The Lobby Bar

With sweeping views of the ocean and just the slightest of breezes this might be the perfect place to stop for a little appetizer before dinner or just one more night cap before bed,

IMG_2195IMG_2196IMG_2197

Champions

Think burgers, club sandwiches, and amazing fries!  Not only does this restaurant feel like back home, but you can run in there to catch that big Hockey, Soccer, Boxing or Football game!  Those big screen TV’s are blasting out sporting events from all over the world!  I can’t tell you how many times we have been away and Hubby has been distressed because he can’t find “the game”. Not only can you find all the games at Champions, but you can find some friends to watch it with too!  Brilliant! IMG_2210

LaEstancia

Offering a beautiful atmosphere meshing old world Mexican charm with cool contemporary style. Excellent Mexican cuisine and prime steaks.

Mikado

Serving up Japanese food tableside! Open for dinner, this Japanese restaurant offers a wide variety of sushi, teppanyaki bbq, and Thai cuisine.

Las Casitas

Specializing in seafood this pool/beach-side restaurant offers alfresco dining with fresh seafood and salads, grill specialties and tropical drinks.  It was our favourite place to catch a bite to eat!  Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Had I been travelling with my girls, aka the super picky eaters in my house, they would have had no difficulty in finding something to eat on each and every menu at the CasaMagna Marriott.  We were impressed with the quality of food, presentations were beautiful, and the service was always warm and welcoming.  I would not hesitate to recommend any of these restaurants.

Kids Club

IMG_2225– Catering to the 4-12 year old set, the Kids Club is open daily and offers supervised care with organized activities from a caring and enthusiastic staff.  There are tonnes of crafts, board games, and pool time offered in their own dedicated pool.  A great way for the kids to blow off some energy while providing Mom and Dad a couple of hours of alone time, or maybe an appointment at the Spa!

IMG_2226IMG_2228IMG_2231

There is also a separate Pottery Painting Program, where for $8.00 a local craftsman will teach your child, or yourself, how to paint "Mexican" barro-clay pottery items!  Lots of fun and a great way to escape the sun for an hour!

Ohtli Spa

The largest full service spa in Puerto Vallarta, my only regret, I didn’t have time to try it out for myself!

Gym

Featuring the latest in cardio and weight training equipment the gym was clean and well used, just not by me!

Our stay at the CasaMagna was everything we could have hoped for.  Staff were warm, welcoming and friendly.  The amenities met our needs, and the special services offered at the Spa are perfect for the traveller looking to indulge while on vacation.  Thanks to the Marriott for their hospitality, we are already looking forward to our next vacation!

Ah, how nice this all sounds! The first thing I would do is drop the kids off at the kid’s club and head to the spa! 🙂

I didn’t know if I would enjoy Mexico in June and have to tell you I loved it! The hotel wasn’t as busy, flights aren’t as expensive and it was hot but not humid. It was fabulous!

Oh I want to go there now! I like that you said that there is a lot of food choices for picky eaters. I have two of those at my house also. I also like that they have the pottery program. That would be a lot of fun.

Picky eaters need choices too right! LOL
Lots for them and for the more adventurous eaters! And of course the pottery program is a ton of fun!
