How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Boomerang Kids! Review & #Giveaway

in Lifestyle on 03/04/14

Last year at this time I was hitting the panic button.   We were about to head to Florida for a week and I had NOTHING, nada, no summer clothes for my dear daughter to wear.  The kid was growing like a weed, and I couldn’t keep up.  I did the only thing I could; made a run to the mall and paid premium prices on the very limited selection of sundresses, shorts, swimsuits I could find.

Fast forward to this year.  I was going to plan ahead right.  Um, nope, that is not how I roll.  Life wouldn’t be interesting if I wasn’t worrying about something. Except this year was different; I was introduced to Boomerang Kids, North America’s first and only resale chain of stores carrying new and nearly new children’s merchandise.  Boomerang Kids carries clothes from all seasons including some of my favourite brand names.  They also have shoes, toys, dance clothes, accessories and the best part, super competitive prices offered both in-store AND online. (I adore online shopping!)

BoomerangKids

I took a couple of hours and truly explored Boomerang Kids.  They have staple brands like Gap, Old Navy, Osh Kosh, Mexx, Children’s Place, and H&M, and also carry some kids’ designer brands. I discovered some Prada, Hugo Boss, Burberry and Hollister. The items ranging from new with tags to gently used and even some brand new.  All items were inspected by Boomerang Kids to ensure they are in excellent condition before they are listed in store or on their site.

So as any good shopoholic reviewing a site would do, I went on a good old fashioned shopping spree!  Yup, I went hunting for stuff for my 12 year old daughter.  I was in need of a few pairs of shorts for some upcoming trips, perhaps a dress for an upcoming banquet and jeans.  Always with the jeans.

Here is just some of what I found. For the price I usually pay for one pair two pairs of jeans, I picked up EVERYTHING on my list! Everything!

First, the dresses, all three of these sweet numbers for less then $30.00!

I also managed to pull this outfit together for less then $30.00  A pair of Hollister Jeans and Cardigan, with a sweet little Garage Tank Top to go underneath.

Is it wrong that I wish this outfit was in my size?

There were so many pairs of jeans to choose from!  One of my fave finds, these Hollister jeans (left) for only $12.99 and a darker wash pair of American Eagle Jeans for less!  Both go perfectly with her choice of this Garage front tie tank top.

I even found the coveted shorts I was searching for!

The site was fairly easy to navigate once you figure out that there is different inventory available at each store, and shopping “on-line” is a different choice all together. You can whittle down your choices by shopping by age category, brand, or even by sale items! I was only shipping for my tween, but there was a TONNE of stuff for babies, toddlers and little people too.

Boomerang Kids even offers some brand new items.  I loved the dance stuff!

Boomerang Kids has been around for 20 years, mainly in the Ottawa-Gatineau region.   The Vaughan store just opened in October 2013.  BoomerangKids.com online shopping portal is brand new and makes it North America’s first children’s resale store where you can buy in-store or online!

Once you have made your purchases and added them to your cart, you can choose to pick up at a store or have goods delivered to your home.  Standard delivery is about $10.00.  I was really impressed not only the selection available but the prices, the speedy delivery and the service!  The good news, you don’t have to take my word for it, go on over to Boomerang Kids and check it out for yourself! While you are there figure out what you would buy for your little one and then come on back and tell me, because that is your first entry in my GIVEAWAY!

One lucky reader will win a $50.00 Gift Card to do some fun shopping at Boomerang Kids.  Please keep in mind that this giveaway is only open to Canadians and shipping charges will be incurred for items you purchase with the gift card.

Please enter using the Rafflecopter form below.  Closes Friday March 14th.
