Is anyone else mourning the passing of summer?
It’s not just the warm sultry nights, the hot days by the pool, and the excuse to eat ice cream after dinner is it? For me weather changes equal health changes. I’m moving with less motivation, dealing with unwelcome headaches and I can’t stop sneezing!! Yep, fall brings those glorious colour changes to our incredible Canadian trees, but it also brings the fall pollen. Oh hello unwelcome allergies!
Turns out I’m not alone. There are millions of Canadians who suffer from allergies; the sniffling, sneezing and incredibly itchy eyes. When the leaves hit the ground in the fall, pollen is easily transported indoors on clothes, shoes and pets. In my family I’m not the only allergy sufferer, my Hubby is lost to the allergy monster too. Do you know what this means for him? Excessive snoring!! No one wins with here. So what can you do to reduce your allergies?
Here are a few tips courtesy of Honeywell True HEPA Allergen Removers: · Save Outdoor Exercise for the Afternoon and Evening · Wear Sunglasses to Protect Eyes · Shower & Change Clothes After Being Outside · Keep Windows Closed · Try a HEPA Air Purifier!
Wait, try a HEPA Purifier? Yes! I did. As the leaves turned burnt orange I plugged in a Honeywell True HEPA Allergen Remover in the upstairs floor of my house.
The claim is that this is the surest way to reduce the presence of allergens in your home,
This particular air purifier is the #1 allergist recommended brand! The air purifier captures 99.97% of microscopic airborne allergens as small as .3 microns (that’s smaller than the diameter of a single strain of hair!) from the air that passes through its filters. In other words, it can grab the pollen and ragweed you are tracking in on your clothes and shoes. Better yet, it’s also ENERGY STAR® rated so running it 24/7 isn’t a load on your energy bills.
After trying out the Honeywel True HEPA Air Purifier in my home, here are my thoughts:
The filter was a snap to set up!
The hardest part, getting it out of the box!
Once we decided where to place the filter, I was surprised the filter easily fit into the decor of my house. It’s sleek and modern! I moved the filter from bedroom to hallway and it worked in seamlessly.
The controls are located right on top, and are simple to understand and use.
Now when the Filter is set to III it is a bit loud. Sort of like a fan on it’s very highest setting, but when it is on I or II it runs much quieter. I rather enjoy the sort of white noise it creates.
Is it helping with my allergies? I can’t say for sure, but I can tell you the house seems fresher and I am sneezing a lot less! Love!!
