How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Sears Club™ Points Program? Do it!

in Lifestyle on 10/23/12

The bathroom towels are looking a little bit old.  You know the look, not dirty just washed and dried, washed and dried…a lot.  My favourite measuring spoon melted in the bottom of the dishwasher.  My youngest needs “black out” curtains for her room, she seems to think if the sun is up, she should be too.  Oh, and without any pre-amble, winter arrived this week in one giant cold gust!  Add winter coats, boots, mitts and scarves to the list of things this Mama has to buy, but really doesn’t want to.  Life is spendy!  This is why when I was asked by Mom Central if I would like to participate in the Sears Club™ Points Blog Tour I jumped in with both feet.  In life there are just some things you must spend money on, so why not give Sears a chance, try out their Points card and find out if it really works.

I carved out a couple of hours just for me, a luxury in itself, armed myself with my brand new Sears Club™ Points Program card and headed to the mall to get my shop on.  As I wandered the aisles of Sears with these points burning a hole in my pocket, I had to keep reminding myself that it was really okay to get something for me!  I found myself with clothes in one had for my SassyNephew, PJ bottoms for my daughters, a Christmas gift for my Grandmother, a Golf Shirt for my Hubby, and yes towels for the house.  It’s been a while since I spent some time in Sears and there really is a little something for everyone!

Feeling scattered and unorganized I put everything back and started again. It was a day to get what I wanted!

Here are the first purchases I finally settled on.

A bright and cozy scarf just for me.  A winter hat I’m not sure I can pull off, but I sure am going to try, and yes a little Christmas gift for my Granny.  (not revealing that here because of certain nosy parkers that might be reading along)  With purchases in one hand and the brand new Sears Club™ Points in the other I walked up to the check out and was secretly wondering if this transaction was really going to work.  I’ve used points cards at other stores, they have never gone well, and was mentally preparing for the hassle at the check-out counter.

My items were rung up, I presented my card and the cashier simply rang it through like a debit.  Easy Peasy!!  I was given my receipt, the new balance available on the card was noted right on it for future reference,  and I was sent on my way.  What!  This simple?

Have I ever mentioned that I am a cynic?  Time for another test my friends!  Back to shopping!  This was now all kinds of fun!

I picked up a SWEET Gingerbread House Kit, a Haunted Halloween House for the girls, went back for the PJ Bottoms and grabbed a little something from the lingerie department.  (I’m not showing you that either!!)  Then hopped in line at a different cashier.  No way this transaction could be as smooth?  It WAS!Searswilton houseSearsHouse

My friends I kid you not, this Sears Club™ Points Program card is ridiculously easy to use and redeem!!  If you have to shop, and spend money on things that are less than fun and fabulous, why not earn points towards some items that you truly desire?!  I encountered no restrictions in store, and you can also use your Sears Club™ Points Program when shopping on line!

A bit more information about Sears Club Points Program:
When you receive a Sears Financial™ Mastercard® or Sears Card, you’re automatically enrolled in the Sears Club™ Points Program. That means you can get up to 2% back in rewards every time you shop!
That’s right, every time you buy something for the kids, or for the house…you get points to purchase what you really want to buy.
Some of the Sears Club Benefits…
– You can earn DOUBLE points at Sears everyday†
– 1,000 points = $10 towards anything at Sears*, including travel
– You can also donate them to Sears in your Community
And redeeming your points is super easy as well. You can redeem your points instantly when you shop at sears.ca, in your local Sears store and by phone at 1.800.901.9978 . It really is that easy!

Psst Here is the item I am going back for next!

SearsBoots

These Madden Girl™ Trish Over-The-Knee Boots!!

Well, either that or start saving all those points towards a flight somewhere far far away!!

Disclosure – I am participating in the Sears Club Points program by Mom Central Canada. I received compensation for my participation in this campaign. The opinions on this blog are my own.
