How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Then There Were The Pools – Reunion Resort

in Travel on 04/02/12

I think my children are part fish.  In the summer we live in the back yard splashing and laughing.  When we go on vacation, it is all about the pool, in the case of Reunion Resort, it was all about the pools!  So many gorgeous tropical areas to choose from, and simply not enough time.

On day two of our stay at Reunion Resort we made it our mission to try each and every pool available to us.  My family was ready for the pool hopping challenge.  I’ve already shown you the stunning views and pool available on the 11th floor.  IMG_7362

The pool was warm enough, but the atmosphere up there was a little too quiet for my girls.  A quick dip in and out and we moved on.  (I returned later with a book and a Hershey’s chocolate bar!)

On to the second set of pools at the Seven Eagles Pavilion!

IMG_7380

Nestled in between picturesque villas you enter the Seven Eagles Pavilion.  We noticed a great little gym to the right, and it was being well used (so I spared those healthy people the embarrassment of snapping their pictures while they sweated off their sushi and wine from the night before) and this small arcade area to the left.  Perfect to lose some quarters and blow off some energy.

IMG_7374IMG_7375

Straight down the centre and you walked out to this gorgeous and huge pool area! Tons of pool lounges and a view that can’t be beat.  Can you see the golf course and big beautiful villas in the background?

There was a little bar/snack area set up to the left.  Drinks anyone?

Is it any wonder my Hubby was literally twitching with the desire to golf?  Check out this view of the stunning Reunion Resort Golf Course. “Reunion® Resort is the only destination in the world to boast three Signature golf courses designed by legends Palmer, Nicklaus and Watson”  Unbeatable.

As much as Hubby and I enjoyed the view and feeling of this location, it wasn’t long before my girls were begging to head to the Water Park!

No wonder!! So fabulous!  The water was incredibly warm, life guards were keeping an eye on the little one’s, and there were plenty of lounge chairs placed under the hundreds of palm trees.  Perfection.  The girls were thrilled, and I was instantly in my happy place.  Sun, laughter and water.  Doesn’t get much better.

Beyond the ridiculously fun splash area was a lazy river complete with a second water slide, waterfalls, and inner tubes for hours of floating.

Love…

IMG_7390Float down this way to get some drinks….. or just sit in your chair and wait a moment for one of the helpful servers to bring you a menu!  I should add that drinks and food here are on a completely cashless system and no outside snacks or drinks are allowed in.  I have to admit to being a bit fearful that this would equal huge prices.  It didn’t!  Drinks were served cold and quickly, food was reasonably priced and there was something for everyone in the family.

IMG_7391

Follow this gorgeous path to the volleyball courts.  (or just turn right back around because it’s really hot and your Hubby just ordered you another Miami Vice and it’s waiting for you poolside!)

IMG_7393

Before we knew it the afternoon sun was disappearing and it was time to pack up and head back to our villa.

ReunionSKReunionLazyRiver

Sigh…no wonder my babies love the water so much, I didn’t want to leave either!

Reunion Resort has something for everyone.  I love that it’s so close to Disney, Lego Land and an stunning assortment of restaurants and attractions.  The beauty of this resort, you could spend your entire vacation here and never run out of things to do!  From the nights at the friendly bar indulging in some sushi, to pool hoping during the day, to volleyball, tennis to golf and the spa that I didn’t even get to. Reunion Resort is the complete package.

As I look back on our time spent at Reunion Resort I am left with only one nagging thought…..when can we go back?

Disclosure: I received a complimentary stay at Reunion® Resort, all opinions reflected in this post are my own. Find Reunion Resort on Facebook and Twitter too!

So excited after reading your travel review. We are planning a vacation in central Florida within the next few months and it sounds as if you have found a spot that would really be great for us. Great accomodations, fab pools and golf. All ingredients for a great getaway.

Interesting. We stayed there in 2007 and loved it too. It’s good to know that it’s still so nice….

As much as I adore lounging by a pool, my current vacation would be chasing after kids as they splash around. A few more years and then maybe …

We love the pools at Reunion, especially the rooftop and water park!
You are dead right, when it is time to leave, you can’t think of anything other than when to come back!
I love the atmosphere: laid back staff, but always professional, perfect for a luxury vacation!

Of course now all I want to do is go back! The temperature here in Canada has dropped, time to start planning that next trip to Reunion 🙂

It looks like your family had a ton of fun!

The abundance of water is one of the few things I miss about living in Florida.

I was telling a friend about Reunion, after reading one of your previous Posts. He said that he and his family have booked there before and that it is everything you say it is, and even more….just wonderful!! They are actually returning again next month. Sounds like the perfect holiday location. I positively will look into it for our next family vacation! Thanks for all of the info!
