Worst And Best Cookies Ever Made

in Uncategorized on 12/21/11

Christmas is less then a week a way people!  Are you ready?  I didn’t think so.  (If you are, just don’t tell people, there are a lot of jealous evil haters in the world.  Cough.  Cough.)  One major thing I still have to get stroked off my Christmas to do list…make the worst and best Christmas Cookies ever created.

Let me explain.

For some reason, “Chocolate Haystacks”  A very polite name for cookies that look like little piles of poo, have become Christmas cookie traditions in our house.  It is just not Christmas until our kitchen counter is covered in the world’s ugliest, and yet most addictive chocolaty cookie.Haystack

So…I thought I would share this not so secret super addictive you are going to hate me recipe.  You’re welcome.

Chocolate Haystack Cookies
Very simple.
Over very low heat in a VERY large pot melt:
*1 cup chocolate chips
*1 cup butterscotch chips
When smooth mix in
*2 cups Chinese noodles (broken down a little bit- I usually do this in a large Ziploc before I begin)
*2 cups peanuts
Stir until thoroughly coated.  If it looks a tad runny throw in more Chinese noodles or peanuts.
Transfer by heaping spoonful’s on to waxed paper and allow to set.
You’re done!  Except you now have to lick the spoons and then wipe the chocolate joy off your babies facesSmile

Will keep for a couple of weeks in an airtight container in the fridge, or a couple of months in the freezer!  (Be warned, if you are a chocolate addict like I am and try and eat them straight out of the freezer, be sure to chomp with your back teeth, PROTECT THE PRETTY, don’t break off a front tooth eating this chocolaty goodness.  That would be embarrassing.

These are my favorites. I usually make them with all butterscotch.
      Merry Christmas!

And then you said peanuts. Poor peanut allergy boy in our house has banned the nuts. Maybe I’ll just melt the chocolate instead, and lick away. 🙂

I was TOTALLY behind this one thinking YES Lil DUCK AND I CAN DO THIS ONE TOGETHER. SUPER EASY *score* FEW INGREDIENTS *score* LOW HEAT *double score* CHOCOLATE *triple score* THEN THEN!!!!! You throw in that whole breaking the front tooth part off and now I’ve got to sit and weep. I have to just lick the screen while dreaming about how wonderful YOUR kitchen smells. I can’t possibly make these now. I’m too vain.

I also love a variation of these, they are made with oats instead of Chinese noodles – and I eat them frozen too 😉 Have you had the oats ones? Mmmm good. Even if they look like poo 😉
