How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Confessions From The Suburbs

in Everyday on 11/21/11

*A Monday Morning letter to get the guilt off my chest.

Dear Sir,
I am truly sorry if you heard me just now, but for some reason I found it incredibly funny when you walked head first into that lamp post at break neck speed. No pun intended. Just a suggestion, but I would think you benefit from looking up from your Blackberry a little more often.
Signed,
The Mama Laughing Uncontrollably From The Car

Dear BlueEyed Girl
Thank you for saving your Mother’s butt. If you had not been here today, I never would have figured out how to turn the darn TV on. Either I am getting that old, or Dear Hubby has one two many toys hooked up to this thing. Thanks for saving movie night.
Love,
Mom (who is clearly going to be just like Grandma)
Oh boy, it’s going to be a long week! Happy Monday!

I am still shocked to see how people get so into their phones that they have no idea of what is going on around them. As someone who still doesn’t have a cell phone I can see how nuts people are and how they think the world is going to end if they don’t see and respond to text or call immediately. I miss the days when if someone wasn’t home you called back later or even later when answering machines came out and you were able to leave a message.
I miss the old days !

I would have DIED laughing had I seen that man walk into the post! But mainly because I’d be relieved that it hadn’t happened to me!

Yeah, I am not fond of needing the younger generation’s help on things like that! Happens all too often.

I cannot work half the electronics in this house and my kids are always asking for my help. It is very sad 🙂

LOL about the lamp post. I’d laugh too. People are too addicted to those blackberries.

Squee! It’s that time again — planning another #HomeExchange getaway!
Leaving the house behind and headed to Ontario cottage country. 🌲☀️
The hubby and I are planning a 7 night lakeside escape just a few hours from home, and honestly, this is where the girl math really starts mathing. After an expensive year, I’m extra grateful for our HomeExchange membership — and I love browsing all the gorgeous lakefront homes nearby!

Do you have a favourite town or lake in cottage country? Tell me!!

One annual membership fee + listing our home = unlimited swaps all year long. Affordable luxury travel for the win.

If you want to travel more often and live like a local, you need to check out @homeexchangecom.
