How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Gone too Soon

in Everyday on 11/19/10

Today I am trying to figure out what to wear.  It doesn’t matter if it is pretty, or stylish, or goes with my new killer heels.  Today it only matters if it is black.

This afternoon I am going to a funeral.  A daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a wife, a Mommy to two little boys.  Will they remember her? The light in her eyes, the lilt in her laugh.  The way she fought.

Cancer never killed her spirit.

Remember when 38 sounded old….

Go now.  Get off your computers.  Go hug your children and call your sister.  Forgive old hurts, let go of the stress and be thankful for every annoyance, every tear, every tiny smile.

Try today to enjoy a moment….and be thankful that you will have many more.

St. Theresa’s Prayer

May today there be peace within.

May you trust that you are exactly
where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are
born of faith in yourself and others.

May you use the gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.

May you be content with yourself
just the way you are.

Let this knowledge settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.

It is there for each and every one of us.

Oh, no… I am so, so sorry, friend. I have tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat, and I am counting my blessings even more today. As soon as I get home from work, I’ll smother my boys in hugs and kisses.
Deepest condolences to your friend. That is way too young, that is way too brutal, that is just wrong. And I’m so sorry. Huge hugs to you. xoxo

My biggest bloggy hugs to you. A friend recently lost his very young sister in law (mother to two) as well. Cancer is hateful. Sending prayers and taking your prayer with me today. Getting off the computer, although my kids are 500 miles away until tomorrow when they come home from college and I am going to smother them with love!!!

      🙁 my condolences…

I know it must be hard and I pray for everyone who has been touched by her and loved her and I pray for her to be at peace.

That poem was beautiful and the weird thing is I got that poem about a day ago in my inbox of one of my e-mail addresses from a friend!…

It’s true, let go of any resentment, or hostility that we have for a loved one because what we have on earth is only time and it can fly by us.

Live Laugh and Love all of those around you, because what that have done wrong in their life is not who they are and they deserve to be treated with love and respect.

      (K) try to enjoy your day modern mom because she would not want you to resent anything either. She would want you to be happy just as she is because now she really knows all about the importances in life! xoxoxxox
