I’m pretending I’m doing the South Beach diet with my Hubby but I sneak 1 piece of chocolate EVERY SINGLE day, put full fat cream in my coffee, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be sneaking some popcorn tonight. (I will have a little bit of guilt about pretending it was the kids that ate it.)
I told the girls they couldn’t have a sleepover AGAIN tonight because their Daddy said so. Truth is, I’m one exhausted Mama and there is not enough coffee in the world to get me through another sleepover this week.
I have never let my Hubby seen me shave. Ever. We have been married for almost 14 years. The “how to’s” of shaving my bits and pieces are my little secret. The thing is I hide these things, well at least I did until I was dumb enough to post about Things Even My Hubby Doesn’t Know. Guess what? He read it, now he knows.
My girls made home made chocolate chip cookies today. I let them have only 2 after supper, because more then that would be gluttonous So why didn’t I stop at at umm 3 or at least 4? Simple. I have different rules for me, then them. Is it fair? Not at all, but they will have to have their own kids to get their revenge.
Tonight, I had a night to myself. Hubby was away and both girls were at play dates. I had a date with “Me”. I did very well at first. Did some shopping retail therapy, grabbed a Starbucks, then went home. I was lonely? Turns out I am also guilty of being pathetic! I forget how to be alone. 🙂
So my resolutions. I figure I can still do the South Beach with the Hubs…with chocolate, tell white lies about my reasoning for sleepovers and cookie limitations, and practice being alone cause frankly the shopping was amazing. I may be guilty of these simple suburban sins, but the truth is, I feel no guilt. That’s how I roll.

smiles. no guilt at all…good job doing a me date!
Great post! my first time here. I’ll def. be back! your stories made me laugh – SO like me with the dieting and the cookie limitations. 😛 can’t wait to come back and read more!
We’re twins, missy! 🙂
uh you know he read about the shaving? he’s going to read about the diet? Also isn’t it better to feed a craving? :p
thing is… might he find out about the cheating of south beach if he reads this… lol!!!
I think we’re all like this!
Wow, all of your “white lies” sound vaguely familiar!
Enjoy that chocolate and retail therapy 🙂
Sounds so delicious! 🙂
Alone time is the best! But also the worst, as you demonstrate, since we’re alone so seldomly that we forget how to entertain ourselves…
I have never and will never let my hubby see me go to the bathroom…just can not do it!

Everybody needs some “Me” time and I know when I have it, it’s difficult for me as well, I am just so used to having everyone around:-)
Hehehehe! You crack me up! Loved this post!
No need for guilt. I definitely have different rules for the kids and me too.
The comment about the cookies made me giggle, I am the same way. I even go so far as to tell my children that some things I buy are just for me. LOL
