How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Revelations From My Vacation

Not to perpetuate the stereotypes, but it’s easy to spot a Canadian in Florida on March Break.  We are wearing shorts and smell like a coconut breeze, all shiny with sunscreen.  Everyone else, pants, jackets and even tooks! (that’s a hat eh?)

It takes a minimum of 4 days before I can put away the Visine and under eye concealer.  Black circles be gone.

I feel better, healthier, dare I say sexier with a tan!

I always pack too many pairs of shorts, never enough warm cozy stretchy eatin pants!

Daddy is way more fun then me on a two week vacation.  He plays Monkey in the Middle until his arms hurt, never tires of video games, and always says yes to junk food.  I push veggies and fruit, remind my wee one’s that it is bedtime and insist on sunscreen and even clean underwear.  Bad Mommy.

Life without alarm clocks is surprisingly liberating!

Only in Orlando does it seem reasonable to pay $48.00 US dollars for a family of four to play mini-golf.

The world seems a happier more peaceful place when you are sitting in a hot tub, sharing a cocktail and searching for the big dipper.  Hot tubs are part magic!

Two weeks can feel like two days when you are with the ones you love.  When you are where you are supposed to be.

Only 11 more months until the next March break.  Sigh.

That’s sounds blissful! Thanks for the definition of a “tooks”. I’ve never heard that before, eh.

You had me cracking up about Monkey in the middle! I’m the smallest in my family so they always gang up on me with that!

Don’t worry…us midwest dwellers would have been rocking the shorts and flip flops too! Pasty legs and all!

Can’t wait until I can take my little guy to Disney. Maybe if I start saving now, we’ll be able to afford by the time he’s old enough. Haha!

Perhaps you were paying for the “vacation experience and atmosphere.” lol

What a lovely time you seemed to have had with your family. 🙂

When I visit Fl in March I, too, am in shorts…when I lived there, however, we used to marvel at the “snow birds” swimming in winter.
      We were further south.

Looks like you had a great time!

You are so funny. Yes…us Floridians are a bunch of whiny babies when it comes to cold. We in head to toe winter garb it it’s 40 degrees outside…lol.

I went to school with a guy who was from Canada….moved to FL his freshman year. I LOVED his accent. It’s sounded so much cooler than my southern twang 🙂

Is March Break a tradition in Canada? Is it the same as Spring Break but with a different name?

Mini-golf: any money spent on that is money wasted where I am involved. This is because I get bored by the 4th hole. I like the idea of mini golf, but I just can’t stand the reality of it!

Time does go way too fast when you are with someone you love and have a deadline. Trust me, I know!

Isn’t it a beautiful thing to get away to where spring has already started, and tan your body!
We are sexier with some color.

Hope your vacation was wonderful. $48 for min golf! Hope they at least let you keep the clubs Lol!

As nice as vacation is, I’m always happy to be home and back on some sort of schedule.
