How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

This Weeks. . . . . . . . . Confessions From Suburbia

in Everyday on 12/22/09

I was secretly upset when a women I volunteer with proclaimed herself Co-Convener of a charity event I RUN. You are not co-convener when you pick up one job out of twenty. Petty me.

I fed my kids pizza for dinner on Saturday night and again on Tuesday.

I haven’t returned my “Needy Girlfriends” phone call in three days. I just don’t have the energy to deal right now.

I tanked our budget this month. I really tried to wear an old dress by sprucing it up with some contraband underwear . But, then I did some emotional shopping and went out and bought a brand new dress and some kick ass shoes to go with it!

I threw my shirt in the dryer for 5 minutes and called it ironed.

I wore the same pair of jeans three days in a row. It happens.

I really don’t love my SweetGirls BFF. She is loud, and pushy and manipulative. Sigh.

I ate and ate…….. and ate so many freakin Christmas cookies that now I have to do more baking before Thursday. Ahhh the joys of the Holiday Season!

I love hearing all your confessions this time of year. Why is there so much stress?? I have made my chex mix and muddy buddies but no cookies baked as of today…because I know I would be rebaking too. Good luck!

You wore those jeans only THREE days…you have a way to go before you beat my record. 🙂

today marks my 3rd day in a row of wearing the same jeans. i’m too tired to care about my pants, besides, i sit at a desk so they’re covered up anyway 😉

glad to know that i’m not the only one who “accidentally” does this!

I brought a new dress too. I still need shoes. Sigh.

And I’m sure you earned that new dress and shoes girlie!!!

      Merry Christmas!

What you mean we’re not suppose to use the dryer to “fluff” the clothes?

Step back and tell her step off girl this is my event!

Really they are jeans a few days in a row is ok, my motto if it doesn’t have kid snot or handprints from kids or hubs then all good right? 🙂

Wearing jeans 3 days in a row? I have SO got you beat at that game.

      December 22, 2009 at 2:54 pm

Are you me? That list sounds awfully familiar. Except I have a one-year-old, so my repeated jeans were OBVIOUSLY repeated. And I still didn’t care. So there, world!

I’m redoing the Christmas baking I ate today, too. Bah.

    12. Too Many Hats says

      December 22, 2009 at 2:47 pm

I baked like a fiend Sunday and I don’t bake. 5 dozen cookies for a cookie exchange (okay technically these were no bake) and 2 dozen egg nog cupcakes for dd’s Girl Scout party.

      December 22, 2009 at 2:32 pm

Ew I would be upset at that woman too! I hate when people try to take credit for things that largely have nothing to do with them.

I am a jean repeater sometimes too. Don’t feel bad. I keep telling myself that once I don’t have to pay to run the laundry, I won’t do it anymore.

    14. JennyMac says

      December 22, 2009 at 2:08 pm

      wait…that isn’t how you iron?

LOL!! I might be coerced into eating some cookies later on…oh the torture 😉
