How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

The Best $20 I’ve Ever Spent?

in Uncategorized on 08/10/15

We were in the farmers market when my daughter spotted something shiny she just had to bring to my attention.  What the heck?

I was very quickly informed the little gadget in question was spectacular, and we just had to have it.  The strange contraption was meant to slice apples, and was quite obviously the “coolest thing ever”.  One of her friends had one had one “and it just makes life SOO much easier…and your apples don’t go brown cause it cuts the apples so fast,….and you get your snacks ready faster.”  Blah, blah, blah.  Oh my goodness. Shh child.  Fine.

I put the crazy contraption in my basket just to make her SHUSH.

Then we took it home, and that kid of mine chopped up her first apple.

And she hasn’t stopped since.  And child number two chops up apples.  Even the SassyHubby chops up a ridiculous number of apples….and they eat them!

That $15 or so bucks?  Best money I ever spent.

More apples have been sliced, diced and consumed in my house since the purchase of that Apple-Corer-Slicer thingy than I ever dreamed possible.  Huh.  Wonder what that kid of mine will talk me into buying next.

I had a stainless steel one when I was growing up but now I have the same one as you and they do make life so much easier.
