I Can’t Keep It A Secret Any Longer! Review of alt Hotel

What do I look for in a hotel?  Location, style…even beauty, safety (I often travel alone, or with just my children), comfort and a decent rate is a bonus. I know what I like and will settle for nothing less.

What do you get when you combine comfort, convenience, a gorgeous modern design, a boutique feel and an affordable rate?  The very best kept secret near the Toronto International Airport.  Yes; I’m about to let you all in on a secret I’ve been keeping.  My favourite airport hotel, the alt Hotel. 

 

Located right on the Toronto Pearson International Airport site is the coolest boutique minimalist, style hotel you may ever have the opportunity to explore.  Steps away from the mono-rail that takes you directly to the airport, is this unique alternative to a conventional hotel.  Everything you need, and nothing you don’t. 

As you enter this hotel you are immediately immersed in the cool and contemporary vibe and greeted by the always friendly staff. 

You are kindly presented your room key and pointed in the direction of the the no-frills self serve cafe.  There is no room service, but you won’t miss it.

The alt Hotel offers an innovative “no-frills-chic” concept combining modern design and eco-friendly features at the same affordable rate, every day, all year round.  alt does not follow the established norms and is off the hotel industry’s beaten track. The  rooms never disappoint.  Quiet, contemporary and oh so comfortable, with 100% ALT Egyptian cotton bedding, goose down duvets and feather centre duvet pillows make every night sleep a peaceful one. 

Every room is equipped with an iHome alarm clock for iPods, as well as multi-plug connectivity panels for electronic devices and a large flat screen television
for a little late night viewing before you call it a night.

Tucked neatly in the corner of every room is an Italian-designed Calla armchair and original works of art scattered about create just the right atmosphere.  I’d love one of these work stations for my home!

The powder rooms provide spa style amenities with terry cloth robes and soap and lotion dispensers by Fruits and Passions.  Efforts are made around every corner to be environmentally friendly.  Recycling bins are easily located, environmentally friendly toilets are in every bathroom, and a room key is required to be placed in a slot inside the door in order for the lights to work in your suite.
