How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Sometimes we yell

in Uncategorized on 01/18/09

Perfect. Nobody is perfect…even though most people in my neighbourhood are doing their best to pretend they are. When you have been out late at a party the night before, a rather rare occurrence. Your hubby has had too much to drink and his snoring sounded rather like an elephant blowing through a garden hose, and both kids decide to wake up with nightmares, you end up very tired. Three hours sleep is not enough. Couple that with having just been putting one foot in front of the other all week. Just trying to get through it. Add cold weather, broken washing machines, lying salesmen, burnt cupcakes, pain and the catalyst..a dramatic child who decides she hates her life and tells you. A daughter to whom you have tried to give the world to on a silver platter but she has a melt down when she has to do homework. Sometimes we yell and send them to their rooms….then we feel like crap. I’m sorry baby. Sometimes we yell…not very often and we will try not to do it again.

Squee! It’s that time again — planning another #HomeExchange getaway!
Leaving the house behind and headed to Ontario cottage country. 🌲☀️
The hubby and I are planning a 7 night lakeside escape just a few hours from home, and honestly, this is where the girl math really starts mathing. After an expensive year, I’m extra grateful for our HomeExchange membership — and I love browsing all the gorgeous lakefront homes nearby!

Do you have a favourite town or lake in cottage country? Tell me!!

One annual membership fee + listing our home = unlimited swaps all year long. Affordable luxury travel for the win.

If you want to travel more often and live like a local, you need to check out @homeexchangecom.
