How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Passive Aggressive Letters….after a night at the movies!

in Everyday on 08/04/17

Dear Concession Salesgirl,
I respect that you have a job to do. Your job is to up sell us every single thing you can. Offer me extra butter, see if I want a bigger pop, perhaps I want to make it a combo? No to all, I reply in my polite but rushy rush voice.  Hmm. Well, Can I offer you a membership in our rewards program? AHHHH. Dear girl…as I just told you, my movie starts in like 2 minutes and I’ve been informed it is a sold out show, I really don’t want to be in the front row.  Can I please just have the popcorn and big old bottle of water and move along!!!
Signed,
Girl in a Hurry
Dear Cineplex Odeon,
Your ticket prices have skyrocketed, your theatres are too cold, your popcorn prices are ridiculous. I have accepted all of that. I am not impressed that after paying to see the movie of my choice I must sit through commercials.  SO MANY COMMERCIALS. Commercials for milk and cell phones.  Commercials for Coke.  Commercial for the popcorn that is going to be done before the show even starts.  If I wanted commercials I would have waited to see this movie on TV. Bring on the previews, bring on the show. Keep your crap 12 minutes of commercials.
Signed,
Glad I rushed at the Concession stand so I wouldn’t miss these commercials
Dear Texting Girl,
Turn off your cell phone in the movies means just that. Turn off your phone and stop your crazy ass texting. I don’t need to be distracted by your little BUZZ BUZZ blue screen during a pivotal moment in the movie. Sex scene plus your blue screen and BUZZ BUZZ  equals super anti-climatic.
Signed,
Getting annoyed now.
Dear Sir -Sitting Beside Me,
Oh, good grief. Didn’t your Mama ever tell about a little thing called the shower? If you knew about this glorious invention and the added benefit of deodorant my experience last night would have been so much more pleasant. Every time you lift your arm to grab some popcorn I gag. Each time the air kicks in I’m forced to plug my nose. You see dear, this is probably why your date didn’t show up last night. She didn’t know how to tell you the embarrassing news…you are super smelly.
Signed,
Girl choking on your B.O. that should have stayed home

I hate when people are talking while the movie is playing or the phone goes off

Lol sounds like one awful movie night. Theaters really are starting to lose their appeal these days with all those absurd prices.

How gross, all people at a show should wear deodorant.

But, it begs the question….what is your brand!!

I was out shopping yesterday and behind me at the cash was this ungodly smelling man i have ever encountered,i had to put vick’s in my nose to rid myself of the smell, horrible(thinking he may have touched the fruit i had picked up,i’m not sure i could eat it now)

Yes popcorn prices sky high, but I don’t think I have ever gone to a movie without getting some. Just wouldn’t be the same without it.

My pet peeve; folks who won’t move over a seat to make room for a couple. Have seen this happen quite often.

I never understand why people just can’t take a shower and add clean clothes, the smell is sickening!

I love going to matinees because they are so much quieter than night time shows. I can’t stand it when people talk around me when the movie is on. When they use their cell phones, it bugs the hell outta me.

One of the reasons I go to Western for movies. It’s small. Not packed and popcorn is delish.

I do love going to movies, but prefer when they are not super busy so that I don’t have any annoying characters sitting right next to me or behind me 😉

LOL and yes to everything. Popcorn prices are INSANE! The all the friggin commercials before the movie are ridiculous, annoying and make me made enough to not want to buy anything in those commercials. And last of all, people who use their cell phones during the movie and who smell SUCK!

The cell phone users are my movie pet peeve. I don’t understand why they want to miss a movie they spent good money to see when they could sit at home and text away for free.

Why don;t people turn off the damn phone at the movie,my pet peeve!

why oh why don’t people put on deodorant or a clean shirt before they head out on date night? So gross.
