How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Saying Goodbye To Printer Panic

in Lifestyle on 08/16/19

“Mom….it’s out of paper!”

“NOOOO! How is this printer out of ink again?”

“Seriously, I need to make this thing print.  My assignment is due tomorrow morning!”

Do any of these scenarios sound familiar?  Do you live in fear of your printer “dying” when you need it most. Sadly, my house has been held hostage by of all things…a printer.  More times then I care to admit there have been tears, late run nights for ink or paper, and even a desperate call to a friend for HELP, because our dinosaur of a printer won’t do the one thing it was supposed to do.  PRINT.  Now that both of my girls are heading off to University, I need a solution to our printer panic, and fast!  Enter the Epson EcoTank-3710.  A cute, compact and perhaps perfect choice for those with kids heading off to school.

Whether you’re outfitting your kids dorm room or finally upgrading the family printer at home, Epson’s refreshed and pretty EcoTank® line of supertank printers now feature a premium white design, along with cost and time-saving features that help students year-round.

Here’s what I love about the EcoTank® ET-3710 All-in-One Cartridge-Free Supertank Printer (MSRP: $479.99)

The ET-3710 is a perfect fit in any dorm room, with the capacity to handle all those term papers and tight deadlines.

  • It’s wireless!  Making it an ideal choice for those with tight spaces or working with a limited number of outlets.
  • The colours.  They are clear and vibrant.  No blurred lines here!
  • Saves you time.  Thanks to the 150-sheet paper tray you don’t have to fill it up as often.
  • Saves money.  It’s been shown you save up to 90 per cent on ink replacement with low-cost ink bottles.
  • It’s quick.  Thanks to fast auto-sided printing.
  • Hands-free AND voice-activated printing capabilities.  Perfect for tech-savvy students.
  • Less Waste.  Due to Cartridge-Free Printing One (1) set of replacement bottles equivalent to about 80 individual cartridges; means fewer trips to the store.  (80 CARTRIDGES – Um, this is a game changer!)
  •  Cute and compact. This Epson printer offers an advanced, space-saving design with integrated front-facing ink tanks.  You can always see how much ink you have left in the tank.

What you need to know about this fantastic printer:

Set-up:

The printer does take a little bit of time to set up, the trickiest part being getting the ink in. Once you have completed your initial set-up usage is straightforward and reliable.

What’s In The Box:

  • EcoTank ET-3710 all-in-one
  • Manual
  • CD-ROM for product setup
  • Power cord
  • 1 bottle of 502 Black (127 mL)
  • 1 bottle each of 502 Cyan, Magenta, Yellow (70 mL)

Ink Configuration:

Consists of four individual ink bottles which can be replaced as needed.

Replacement Ink:

  • 502 Black (127mL)
  • 502 Cyan, Magenta, Yellow (70 mL)

Note: Epson does recommend the use of genuine ink to ensure optimal print quality and performance.

I’m looking forward to sending my daughter off to University knowing she has all her printing needs covered…without the drama!  With the incredible printing capacity of of the cartridge, and the ability to see those ink levels right on the front of the printer, she has one less thing to worry about, and isn’t that the way it should be? Thanks Epson!

One replacement ink bottle is about 80 individual cartridges? That is amazing! I also like that it has a large paper tray, and I appreciate the hands-free/voice-activation feature – all very handy features!

Wow! I had no idea printers didn’t have to use ink cartridges! I’ll definitely be looking into getting this printer 🙂
