Luigi is a bird! Apparently he is a very talented bird who has found a little bit of fame thanks to his appearance on the Dragons’ Den. This little fellow is the “Beak” in the newest line of cards launched by Hallmark called “Hand and Beak”! Yes, believe it or not “Luigi the Lovebird uses his beak like a sewing machine needle to shred paper into precision strips.” Then his human partner Mary McQueen “crafts whimsical collages from his shredding, and creates card with reproductions of the original artwork”. The finished products look like this:
So different right? The collection, which is now available at Hallmark, features six birthday card designs, each priced at $3.99 Besides being what I think may be the most uniquely created birthday cards ever produced there is one more twist! All proceeds from the sale of Hand and Beak greeting cards will be donated to Make-A-Wish Canada® on behalf of Hallmark Canada! Make-A-Wish Canada® is an organization that helps grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, so you really can feel great about your Birthday card purchases!
So when you make a trip into Hallmark to stock up on some truly awesome Halloween decorations and knick knacks, don’t forget to keep your eyes open for “Hand and Beak”!
Oh now wait, you didn’t think I would let you go without showing you the Halloween goodies did you! Here are my fave three Halloween offerings from Hallmark this fall!
The Door Decor Witches Hat! This sweet, yet kind of creepy hat, is motion activated. When the little trick or treaters come knocking on your door they will be rewarded with a cackling face and some spooktacular sounds!
Hallmark always offers an adorable singing plush! This Halloween brings us the Ghostly Singing Duo of the Ghost and Jack o Lantern. They sing and dance, getting you in the mood for some good old fashioned Halloween fun. Warning, the tune is catchy!
Last but not least; My Pet Ghost! Yes a wee Ghost stuck in a jar. (stuck in there so he really can’t scare the kids) Just tap the lid and the Ghost inside lights up and reveals what really goes on inside his teeny home. Some spooky music, cat screeching and even ghost conversation will keep your little one pressing that button! There are even different kinds of “pets” to collect. Pictured below is Genevieve Ruffles, we have Maxwell McSpooky at our house!
With exactly four weeks until Halloween it’s time to start decorating! Need some inspiration? Look no further than your closet Hallmark Store!
When do you start decorating for the scariest night of the year?

I am a sucker for non-traditional birthday cards so I will definitely be keeping an eye out for these at Hallmark.

I saw the Pet Ghost at Walmart the other day, and couldn’t decide if it was totally cute, or totally scary to a little kid. 🙂
