Welcome!

I'm often amazed and confused by the bizarre happenings behind the closed and competitive doors of the typical suburban home. The following is a place to share my thoughts and reflections on daily life as I try to navigate this crazy and wonderful world.

Lazy Sunday Meme~The 5-5-5 Tag

Michelle over at Flying Giggles and Lollipops caught me in a game of tag!

I am to answer the five questions with five answers and tag 5 more bloggers. Be sure to pay a visit to Michelle and check out all her great posts, she is a sweetie!
Question 1: Where were you five years ago?
1.) Running around with a 6 and a 3 year old.  Embracing the crazy.
2.) You could often find me with a hard hat on, a matching wee hard hat for the three year old.  We were in the throws of our very own Restaurant Makeover.

booth tables

We flipped a Burger King into a upscale dining restaurant.  So much fun, so much work.
3.) Since it’s February I was also probably preparing for our annual trip to Florida. Oh how I love me some sun!
4.) Trying to decide if I could truly handle this stay at home mom gig.
5.) Making a decision.  Are two children enough for me?  Still deciding!

Question 2: What is (was) on your to-do list today?
1.) Ummm, laundry.  Sexy eh?
2.) Figure out what on earth I’m going to wear to that 40th Birthday party tomorrow night.
3.) Who’s kidding who, buy something new for that party tomorrow night.
4.) Carpool home from Cheerleading.  Second carpool to Gymnastics.  I’m a glorified chauffeur.
5.) Try not to eat all those crumbly oatmeal cookies in the kitchen.  Remember?  The party tomorrow night?

Question 3: What five snacks do you enjoy?
1.) Dur.  Cookies..oh especially hot out of the oven.  Yum.
2.) Popcorn.   I have a problem.
3.) Warm toasty bread and tapenade shared with my hubby.
4.)  Raw Almonds (I know, boring)
5.)  Any kind of muffin.  That is what goes best with the oh so addictive Chi Tea Lates from Starbucks.

Question 4: What five places have you lived?
1.) On a beautiful lake in the Muskoka’s.  The colors, the rocks.  Sigh.  This is where I spent weekends and summers when I was growing up.

PA050747[1] PA060757[1]

2.) In a house with shag carpets and olive green appliances.  I am a child of the seventies and eighties.
3.) A University dorm room.  Too small and not enough bathrooms.  All kinds of fun.

4.)  My first Apartment.  A tri-plex where we rarely locked the doors and went back and forth between the neighbours like some kind of bad sitcom.
5.)  My current home.  Full of myself, my hubby, 2 girls a dog and cat.  A house full of much laughter love.

Question 5: What five things would you do if you were a billionaire?
1.) Travel!  There is so much of the world to see.  Apparently my 8 year old wants too see “A Mime in A Box in Paris”  Huh?  Funny kid.

2.) Build our dream home and pay off mortgages of those near and dear.
3.) Create Summer Camps for children and teens with special needs.   There are just not enough quality services for these incredible people.
4.)  Buy that vacation home somewhere warm and sunny! Have you heard, I hate the snow.
5.) Did I mention travel?  I see a year of homeschooling and traveling.  Five star all the way baby.

And now 5 more bloggers...

You know I always feel such guilt trying to pick just 5 people to pass these things along to!  If you want to play, please do, in the meantime I will ask these new reads if they want to play!

The shag carpet made me laugh. Yep..we had olive green shag in our house. Green and yellow wallpaper in the bathroom. GAG..but Mom loved it back then :)

I hate the cold too. It's a good thing I live in the sunny state.

I too am a muffin lover. I made 2 batches yesterday. Blueberry and chocolate chip. Don't tell the folks on my weight loss blog....lol. I'm such a bad example :)

Traveling for a year sounds awesome.

I baked a cake today, and cake was my lunch! Layed in the sun for an hour, a little nap, read a book, chase the boyfriend around the bedroom (he is a slow runner)

I am a little obsessed with popcorn too.

Very cool about the restaraunt flipping - i'm pretty much obsessed with anything involving a restaurant (meaning places that produce food that can be eaten by moi. LOL).

We had harvest gold appliances and shag carpet in the kitchen (yuck!). Glad those days are over.

Five years ago I was still single. Today, I cleaned the master bathroom. I love cookies or cupcakes. I've lived in a lot of houses, but in the same general area, and yes in a college dorm room too. As a billionaire, I would pay off all my debts, those of my children, retire and move to a warm climate in my new custom house.

Restaurant? A lot of work! I too grew up with olive green appliances! Shag carpet, yep!

I am so proud of you for getting this up! I am so bad, I am majorly lagging on some tags and awards, I will get around to it - hopefully soon. I need to check out the blogs you tagged!

MMMMM, warm toasty bread.
I love the idea of 70's decor. Shag carpet's a b*tch to clean though.
I'm too impressed for words to express with your restaurant venture. (bowing).
A home filled with laughter & love is wonderful. I'm glad that's where you are now.

I love raw almonds, so does my *almost* 4 year old daughter.

And 5 years ago, I was trying to decide what to do with my life (little did I know that in 4 months I would be preggo for the first time and get a huge promotion at work...funny how life does that...and funny that 5 years later I'm a SAHM with TWO kids, and debating on having more...)

I'm right there with you on the traveling. I want to hear more about this restaurant flip!

What a fun post! I have a problem with popcorn too.

Muskoka is beautiful. Can't wait for summer!

Love it!

Cookies, muffins and pound cake are my weakness!!!!

We called olive green "avacado green"...and it was putrid. Your restaurant is beautiful; I want to visit it. Florida in the winter? You're my kind of girl. And wherever you spent weekends and summers makes me drool. Wow!

Now I'm wondering if marketing of Zhu Zhu pets was aimed at Americans...makes me like Canada more and more!
