Welcome!

I'm often amazed and confused by the bizarre happenings behind the closed and competitive doors of the typical suburban home. The following is a place to share my thoughts and reflections on daily life as I try to navigate this crazy and wonderful world.

Resolutions Start Tomorrow...maybe

Today I stayed in my pajamas until noon.
I finally had a shower and cleaned up by about two.
I let my hair dry. I did not brush it out carefully and with the love it deserves, it is now a tangly ugo mess.
I did not make my kids shower at all.
For breakfast I ate peanut butter, so thick and creamy, spread on hot fresh toast.
I drank coffee with full fat cream.
We smashed an entire Gingerbread House with an ice cream scoop. I ate my fair share. OK. Maybe a bit more.
Lunch was pasta stuffed full with left over shrimp from last nights party for two.
Somewhere in here I snuck in Hot Chocolate.
Dinner, the oh so nutritional chicken nuggets with a side of mashed potatoes.
We have one more movie to get through tonight. There will be popcorn....and extra butter.

For these offences of laziness and over eating against my body I do not apologise!

However Dear Body, I will try and do better tomorrow.

Now that's what I call living. Gotta start the New Year with a bang, a bang of good food.
I've been on atkins for 3 months, so when I ate a big bacon classic and fries, to say the least I was in heaven.

I look forward to blogging with you. I can tell its going to be a fun year.

...i don’t like mama’s last blog Orange Juice, Gates and Pee?

oh that sounds like the BEST way to ring in the New Year EVER! Our kids were not well today and everybody stayed in pjs (except I did walk the dog) and at 10 PM we finished playing games and it was so lovely to be on vacation for another day- yay

In my usual fog, I threw a rum cake in my cart with the salad fixings intended to help me stick to my new resolutions. When I got home and surveyed my purchases, I ended up going with a PB and J sandwich and a slice of rum cake instead of a salad.

Awesome! I say...if you eat what you want when ya want it...you're not thinking about it so much that you completely go overboard. Right?

We've watched a lot of movies in the last two days too. Our last one was the Proposal with Sandra Bullock and it was reallllly good!

I'm jealous! Yesterday I started P90x so needless to say...no gingerbread, butter, or peanut butter for me! :(

See you have to go and clean up all the "stuffs" that you dont' want in the house before you can ban it from the house see? You've accomplished part one. :) I'm sure you were gorgeous in 2009, so taking it down a notch for the day, makes way for that 2010 resolution of accomplishment. It's hard to perfect perfection....

I've also been cleaning up Gingerbread house. Don't eat the corner joints! my poor teeth!

Tomorrow sounds great to me!
I usually set to many resolutions and then get frustrated and quit. This year, I'm going to pick one or two and stick to them.
Good luck with yours - and Happy New Year!

Theres always a do over every day right?!

Who says that resolutions have to start on January 1? I say give yourself a week to ease into it. (Or, at least, that's my excuse for eating vast quantities of peppermint bark today.)

I don't think you over ate at all. Hot chocolate is delicious ( when made with milk )!!!

What a perfect New Year's Day. All that food is making me hungry - especially the gingerbread house and hot chocolate. If that doesn't warm your heart on a cold winter day I don't know what does.
