Welcome!

I'm often amazed and confused by the bizarre happenings behind the closed and competitive doors of the typical suburban home. The following is a place to share my thoughts and reflections on daily life as I try to navigate this crazy and wonderful world.

Getting My Mojo Back . . .and Getting it Off My Chest!

It's been a rough week so!

~I hope my Hubby thinks Hypochondriacs are *hot* cause I've decided I am what I am, this old bird can't change her ways!

~I sent up a little prayer of thanks last night....to the The Lunch Lady. Thanks goodness today is hot lunch day for my darling daughters. I am so sick of making lunches!

~While I'm at it I'd also like to say a quick blessing to the makers of Tylenol, Advil and Ice packs. You rock.

~Why doesn't Canada have a "Black Friday" of Shopping? How do I get that started here?

~Why do I bother with the non-fat latte then add a Ginger Molasses Cookie? Is this really going to keep me in those skinny jeans?

~I need a Blue Tooth. You know....some kind of wireless cell phone contraption for my car, but I'm afraid of making a shopping blunder and can't decide which kind to buy. I have shopping paralysis!

~Why do shirts and sweaters always look so good in the store and then like crap when I get them home? Are there some kind of magic mirrors in those dressing rooms??

~Oh...and one last time. Down with Swine flu.

Random feels so good. :)

I hope you feel better, and I don't do Black Friday...NO WAY! I think that Thanksgiving should be a two hour holiday...let em out for dinner.

You have some interesting points here. I think there is a bluetooth device for cars. It works through the car radio.

Y'all don't have Black Friday?? How bizarre.

And yes those mirrors at the store are magic! This I believe with all my heart.

OMGosh, Black Friday is all the buzz here in the states - I don't participate in fear of being trampled and hey there is no way I am getting out of my toasty bed at 3:00am to wait in line outside for a store to open at 5:00am - ain't happening.

hee hee, I'm totally a big baby too. I once cut my hand with scissors and couldn't stop the bleeding. I called my husband to take me to the dr. (my dh worked only 5 mins. from home) I started feeling light headed and thought I might pass out so I laid myself on the floor right in front the door. My husband came in and started laughing at me. anyways the cut was pretty bad and had to get stitches. ouch
oh, forget the non fat anything, I don't bother. Go ahead have the real thing :)

Diet Pepsi ice cream sodas cancel out the calories you know!

The best Thanksgiving to you!

Of course the non-fat latte cancels out the cookie! It's the law! That's why I always order a Diet Coke with my greasy cheeseburger! ;-)

Dressing room mirrors are like carnival mirrors, except they make you look really skinny :)

"Why doesn't Canada have a "Black Friday" of Shopping? How do I get that started here?" --- If you figure that out, my friend, I'll owe you big time! How can we start that here? ;)

Ramdon is always good!

Black Friday is pure madness, and I'm not sure we should have them. We're crazy enough on Boxing Day - that might be our "version" of Black Friday. hee.

Tania-Dreams2009 said...

ahah I know! Where is our Black Friday!! And our boxing day sales are usually pretty lame. Maybe this year will be better ;)

Random Rants always feel good! So get them off your chest! :)

Happy Hump Day!!

Oh what a fun week you are having.. I think when you are at the stores everything looks great but then when you get home yup there is a change. Have a great day..

Nova said...

I always have skimmed milk ( skinny ) lattes and a cookie....imagine the calories if it wasn't skinny! And like previous comments I always have diet coke....wouldn't drink fat coke in a million years but would never turn down a cheeseburger. ;0)

Black friday is for crazy people. So, you know I don't go there. :)

Happy MoJo to you!

Great list of randoms! I'm not a big Black Friday shopper, although, we are going on Saturday. Things are likely to be a mess and slightly picked over, but I'd much rather brave that than the HUGE crowds. Online shopping rocks! I'm 3/4 through with my Christmas shopping because I've done so much online! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Tinika said...

As always, I love your post! Have a happy thanksgiving! Umm, is Thanksgiving the same day in Canada as it is in the US?

I have a Garmin GPS in my car that has blue tooth built in - works great!

I agree with You and Gigi. Those mirrors are FAKE! NOTHING looks the same as it did in the store when you get home.

Random is best ever.

And I concur - no Black Friday in Cda? WTF?! (pardon my french)

Hope you're not requiring too much of those Tylenol, Advil and ice packs.

i have the same issue with sweaters - i cannot begin to count how much money i've wasted on them...

I love your random posts. My dad is a hypochondriac, so my sister and I have a little bit of it in us too. My sister always thinks she has a brain tumor and I always think I have cancer. And we never do. And be thankful you don't have black Friday there. It is torture and traffic is hellish!

Buckeroomama said...

I might be wrong in that I think Black Friday shopping is like Boxing Day shopping ...and it's crazy! I don't like crowds much. You can tell.

Heather @ Two Little Monkeys said...

I don't do the black friday thing. Im all snug in my bed at 3 am!

kim = supahot

Oh no, swine flu???? Eek! So sorry, hope you feel better soon. I think the hardest part of the swine flu in my family was the quarantine and the total stir-craziness that ensued. Don't forget, you can always partake in all of the online Black Friday bonanzas, even in Canada! :)

Also my local Electronic stores are pulling out hte Sales but really it's not a free toaster for the first 100 customers like I used to get when I lived in the USA. We'll have to open our own stores nad start it here. :)
Off to put my Turkey Breast in the oven. I got ot have turkey today.

Shelly Rayedeane said...

Yes. Mirrors indeed. Sometimes it is just best to not look in any mirrors and to visualize what can be and take some space from people.

Ya know, the sweater thing just happened to me today: bought 3 yesterday and they looked awesome in the store. expensive stuff, too! tried to fit one with my jeans this morning and whoa, wth is wrong with this look :(

Please help me understand your interest in starting a Black Friday. I(teetering on Agoraphobia) don't even like to leave the house on Black Friday. Maybe you all have it already and are wise enough to not give it such a foreboding name.

What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.
