Welcome!

I'm often amazed and confused by the bizarre happenings behind the closed and competitive doors of the typical suburban home. The following is a place to share my thoughts and reflections on daily life as I try to navigate this crazy and wonderful world.

Short and Shallow

Thank you to the lady who gave me her grocery cart when I couldn't find a quarter to get one out of the stall myself.

Thank you pre-cooked chicken. I know what is for dinner tonight.

Thank you to the pharmacist who assured me the body is a powerful thing and can heal itself from many things...just be patient and give it time.

Thank you to the wonderful Mom who took my Sweet Girl for a 3 hour play date while BlueEyes was at Gymnastics. Hubby and I snuck in shopping and dinner for two.

Thank you to the garbage men who threw my pail into the middle of the lawn this week instead of letting it roll down the road as usual.

Thank you Banana Republic for your clearance rack.

Thank you Theatre group for cancelling this weeks class. One less thing.

Thank you to the group of 20 year olds who gave me a whistle as I walked out of Tim Hortons.

Sigh. Sometimes as you battle life in suburbia, it's the little things that get you through.

You are right... it is the small things that get us through. Getting a whistle from a group of 20 year olds would at the very least coax a smile out of me. :)

Glad to see that things have turned around since your last post! Lady Luck must be smiling down at you right now, might be a good time to buy a lotto ticket!

It truly is the little things. But getting a whistle ranks big in my book. If you're not screaming MOM, you're doing something right.

Isn't it amazing how little things can mean so much! We all need unexpected attention and short cuts...as often as we can get it.

I definitely agree! It is the little things, like getting a moment to yourself to drink a cup of hot tea or latte. It's the little things, for sure.

Where in the h-e-double hockey sticks are you shopping that you need to pay for a grocery cart? It seems to me they should want to hand you over three carts so you will be tempted to buy more. Idiots! And BTW, I have never seen a picture of you, but I just assumed you were a little milf mama. God, the last time a 20 year old even looked back at me, I think I had a boob hanging out or something. And he wasn't looking to gawk, he was just nice enough to point it out.

I still laugh everytime I haer about someone having to pop a quarter in for a cart. Or buggy as we call them down here in the deep south. We get ours for free, but my family up north has to dish out for thiers as well!
