Welcome!

I'm often amazed and confused by the bizarre happenings behind the closed and competitive doors of the typical suburban home. The following is a place to share my thoughts and reflections on daily life as I try to navigate this crazy and wonderful world.

Have You Ever?

Waited all day for the UPS guy...afraid to leave the house, only to miss him when you were ummm indisposed.

Checked your blog to see if it will brighten you day and realized you have lost one of your invisible friends.

Had a fight with the Tupperware and pots that are taking over the kitchen cupboard....and lost.

Shopped for 3 hours with your lovely 10 year old daughter to find just the right top for picture day. Come home with boots, jeans, runners and NO top. Silver lining. She found just the "Gee Mom, I am in Grade 5 ya know" Top and not a pre-schooler anymore top. Right in her very own closet. Ya think I've been played?

Realized that burning smell is not the furnace kicking in for the first time this season, it's your super expensive, ultra important Chi Hair Straightener.

Spent an honest hour making a dinner you think the whole family will love only to realize pretty much only the dog appreciated your effort.

Welcome to my world! Hope the weekend treats you well!

I have had all of these minus the shopping with a 10 year old happen to me! hope your luck turns around! i hate when these things happen!

Yes to every single question...

Especially the dinner part. I work so hard to try to please picky eaters, and when I make something delicious and kid-friendly, and they refuse, I get so upset.

Lost the fight with the pots in the cupboard? Many many times.

Oh, I so hear you on the dinner making. My husband always PRETENDS to like it though so that's good. Nothing like kids saying "yuck" to your face, especially when it is far from "yuck". ;-)

Happens to me daily! Most of the time when i lose i just leave he crap laying wherever the battle ended. Hubbs-to-be sweeps in and restores the kitchen order...

I haven't cleaned can't you see? Oh, no, it's because I have the candles burning and it's ambient light...

You are welcome to spend the weekend at my house to get away from all of that!

You are soooo not alone! :)

All of it. In the same day. Except for the dinner bit - 'cause you know; I don't do cooking.... Oh and the shopping with a ten year old girl; mines a guy.

OK, give it up! Where DID you hide those cameras in my house!?

I have started trying to get my son to eat the foods I cook instead of baby food. The dogs usually end up eating it and out comes the baby food. Oh, well. Gotta keep trying, right? Right?

Oooo Chi's shouldn't smell - wha'happened??

Tupperware can go kiss my butt - I gave up on that fight years ago, LOL!

Oh have I ever?! Yes, to every single one, especially that dinner one. I hate to cook as it is, so when it goes unappreciated, it's even worse!

Ah...one of THOSE days!! Get everyone in bed...put your feet up on the couch and get some YOU time!

Every time I read your posts, I get a laugh and it brightens my day :) I don't have anything really to complain about, but I'm on bedrest for a couple of weeks and it's boring, so a laugh is much appreciated...LOVE your posts and humor, it's just such a pleasure to come here and read.

Oh yes... especially the dinner part! When that happens, I think that I should've just ordered take-out and saved myself the effort.

Have a great weekend.

I have no idea what a Chi hair straightener is, but I'm off to google it. Sounds like something I'd love to buy. Hair straighteners are worth the money!

I love these peeks into your life. It is so different from the life I'll ever have.

I think I need to get a dog for my dinner catastrophes. It would help with the amount of garbage that seems to accumulate after my latest mishap.

oh yes, I live the dinner nightmare a lot around here.

As for the failure of dinner, our rule was that at the end of dinner everyone got to vote thumbs up or thumbs down, but to spare the feelings of the cook they were not to dissect its failures while they were trying to eat it. Still depressing but not so painful.

I, too, always feel a little sad when I notice that I have lost a follower. I try not to take it personally, but I do wonder what made them decide to stop following.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I actually have been a follower of yours for a few weeks but have been so busy with my move and trip, that i've not been commenting on blogs as much. Hope you'll visit again!

Take care!

do we have the same UPS man? Although it doesn't matter over here because he doesn't wait. He is a ring and dropper, whether I am sitting right on the porch or not.
Other than the 10 year old, yep, been there done that.

Oh wow.. I totally have days like these as well. Especially the dinner part. It's just Trinity and I, and she is a super picky eater...

"Checked your blog to see if it will brighten you day and realized you have lost one of your invisible friends." ~ try not to take that personal... although I always wonder why someone stops following as well. Their loss, for sure.

And I CANT live without my Chi either, but man, I hate that smell. LOL

There is an award for you on my blog. It's my own creation of the "PIMP" award (pee'd in my pants)...
I "heart" you!! and so glad we are bloggy buddies. :)

I've so been there. I love my CHI!!! I've had it for like 6yrs now and it's still working like I just bought it yesterday. LOL

The cupboards in my kitchen barely hold anything. I fight with them all the time!

I'm so there!

I think most of us have one of those tupperware cupboards where you can always find the bottom but never the lid that fits!
