Welcome!

I'm often amazed and confused by the bizarre happenings behind the closed and competitive doors of the typical suburban home. The following is a place to share my thoughts and reflections on daily life as I try to navigate this crazy and wonderful world.

Sometimes it's the little things

Woke up with a groan and rolled over.
Did not want to get out of bed.
So. Tired.
Peeled my eyelids open.
Desperately tried to focus on the alarm clock.
Huh?
It is only 4:12am!
Actually giggled to myself...I get to sleep for three more hours!
Sigh.
Sometimes it's the little things that bring one joy in Suburbia.

I was NOT giggling when I had to get up at 5:30 this morning and head to the gym. I am also not giggling now that my legs feel somewhat like tight jello (is that even possible???LOL). I think I will head to bed early so that it at least feels like I am sleeping in tomorrow. ha ha

I love it when I wake up on a Sat. morning thinking it's the weekday and I have to get up, then quickly realized it's Sat. and can go back to sleep. That feels so good.
On a funny note, my 8 year old son wakes up everyday asking, what day is it?

Oh a paradise of beds, cosy blankets and no kids jumping up and down on the bed screaming, when its time to get up.

My kingdom for a ten hour sleep!!!

Works for me. Glad you got "extra" sleep.

that's always the best!!! I just hate when you wake up around 20 min or so from when you are supposed to.......then you wonder if it's worth it to try to catch a few more minutes or just get up!

The problem about thinking you've got time to sleep is that inevitably something happens and the kiddies wake up early and you realise what a fool you were for even imagining you had a few hours left...I've look at my clock at 4.30 in the past thinking I've got at least 3 hours left and feeling all happy about it and then been woken up an hour later and then spent the whole day being miserable!! Hope you did get as much sleep as you thought.. ;-)

Are you kidding? That's the best! Waking up anytime before 5am, and knowing you have a couple more hours is great! Waking up at 6:30...not so good!
