Welcome!

I'm often amazed and confused by the bizarre happenings behind the closed and competitive doors of the typical suburban home. The following is a place to share my thoughts and reflections on daily life as I try to navigate this crazy and wonderful world.

Grieving

She was so beautiful.
She was always there when I needed her.
Helped me every day.
She helped me to carry my heavy loads.
Protected my loved ones.
She kept me warm and safe.
Allowed the sun to shine into my life.
She entertained the kids.
Never let me down.
Got me through some turbulent weather.
Safely guided me home.
She never let me get lost.

I miss my gorgeous 7 seater Ford Lincoln Navigator with automatic lift tail gate, heated seats, moon roof, built in entertainment system, 20" spoke chrome aluminium wheels and GPS.
Sigh.
If you're going to survive life in the suburbs, a ridiculously small 2 door just won't do.

**This ridiculous little 2 door sports car is going back..hunt for a new SUV is on!

I miss my Expedition, too!
We had 4 in 13 years and they kept us safe. We had to say goodbye this Feb....Now since the big kids are older and we were downsizing, we drive around dh's Infiniti...
But it truly is nothing like our Expedition..

But just think of how much money you'll save in gas!

a small 2 door is definitely a super downgrade. I would be grieving as well. My sympathy.

I dream of having a smaller car...but I also have to fit at least 7 bodies in all the time....more if I could.
Good luck, Suz

I love SUV's. I would be grieving, too, if I'll have to give that up. Glad to know that you're getting another one!

I would be lost without my 7 seat minivan that is our camping/skiing/sports mobile. I hope you find a nice SUV.

You crack me up!! When I saw the title I got nervous that you lost a loved one (which I know you did. A comfy car is a must have for moms)

And your "Confessions" post was too funny!!!!!!!!!!

we all must cling dearly to our suburban warfare vehicles. we have precious cargo on the line here :)

I know it's a false sense of security, but when I get in my SUV I feel safer and I can see farther than the next guy's bumper. Of course you can drive farther, cheaper, in a small car. You can also get KNOCKED farther in a small car.

As someone with an healthy emotional attachment to my precious Saturn (even though it's a little 2-door), I can totally relate!

I'll have a moment's silence for the passing of your car, out of respect for your feelings. It's the least that I can do.

I way prefer to go fast, but I can totally understand the need for comfort and room. I had a Blazer I loved dearly a few years ago but I also like to change lanes without needing a semi to let me in lol.

Mmm...heated seats.

I have a Buick Rendezvous. It seats five, but I have a spot for third row seat.

Wish I had heated seats.

About 1 1/2 years ago, the hubs surprised me with a new car (just 2 weeks before our last child was born, in fact!). Don't get me wrong! I love my car ~~~ it's a spendy little sporty thing (ahem, with 2 car-seats in the back of course!!)and yet I would give anything for a nice BIG roomy SUV! That Navigator sounds like it would fit the bill PERFECTLY! Would I want to give up my little car? Certainly not. See, I think we need a Navigator as well.....

Hope your hunt goes well!Rah rah for roomy SUV's!
