Welcome!

I'm often amazed and confused by the bizarre happenings behind the closed and competitive doors of the typical suburban home. The following is a place to share my thoughts and reflections on daily life as I try to navigate this crazy and wonderful world.

Snowed in in Suburbia

It's snowing again. Another 15 cm last night. All the "good" neighbours are out shovelling their driveways and sidewalks, clearing the snow as fast as it falls. We are sitting in the house watching cartoons in our PJ's at 11am on a Sunday morning. Bucking the system. When you live in suburbia you follow the unwritten rules of the neighbourhood. Don't let the grass get too long, don't let the dandelions take over (even if your kids think they are pretty) and heaven for bid if you let the snow sit in the driveway for too long. Bizarre. Guess my first entry will be a short one. Have to go shovel the driveway and the walk..have to be a good neighbour in suburbia.
